Jackspektra leaves the professional League of Legends scene

After an impressive 2024 season in the LVP SuperLiga and a successful performance at the EMEA Masters, Jakob "Jackspektra" Gullvag Kepple announced his retirement. This bot laner, known for his unconventional playstyle, leaves a valuable legacy on the professional League of Legends scene to devote himself to new pursuits outside of esports.

Success Story and Rise in Europe

Jackspektra began his journey in 2020 with Phelan Gaming and over the years moved through several teams, including Dusty, Riddle Esports, BCN Squad, and Cream Real Betis, to gain experience and make a name for himself in the European scene. The real breakthrough came in 2022 when he joined Team Heretics, winning the Summer Playoffs LVP SL with them and reaching the semi-finals of the European Masters 2022, where they faced BDS Academy. These achievements paved his way to the LEC, where he was invited as the main bot laner in 2023.

However, his stay in the LEC turned out to be short-lived. Following mixed performances in the Winter and Spring Split 2023, Jackspektra gave way to Flakked, who was promoted to the main roster from the academy Los Heretics in an attempt to bolster the team. Jackspektra then returned to the academy, where he continued his career.

Return to LVP SuperLiga and Career Conclusion

The year 2024 was significant for Jackspektra. With Los Heretics, he won both splits of the LVP SuperLiga and helped them secure 3rd-4th place at the EMEA Masters, showcasing dominance in the Spanish scene. Nevertheless, Los Heretics began preparations for the 2025 season, aiming to rejuvenate the roster. Among the new talents chosen was bot laner Rin, clearly indicating upcoming changes and parting with Jackspektra.

Conscious Decision to Retire

In a video message to fans, Jackspektra explained his decision, noting that his motivation for playing had changed. Once driven by ambitions to become the best, in 2024 he felt that the daily routine of a professional player no longer brought him the same enjoyment. Additionally, Jackspektra revealed that he began exploring other interests and creative avenues beyond esports. Thanking fans for their support, he noted that the live event meetings and victories would remain his fondest memories.

Career End

Jackspektra's departure marks the end of a significant chapter for the League of Legends esports scene. His achievements with Los Heretics and other successes will be a reminder of his contribution to European esports.
