Massu and Busio reflect on FlyQuest’s dominant win over G2 at MSI 2025 — "We still have a lot more"

FlyQuest delivered a crushing 3:0 victory over G2 Esports at Mid-Season Invitational 2025, making a bold statement on the international stage in front of their home crowd in Vancouver. On July 4th, the North American squad not only dismantled the European powerhouse, but did so with poise, confidence, and a level of coordination that caught the eye of fans and analysts alike.

This interview matters not just because FlyQuest won — it matters because we’re witnessing a team coming into its own in real time. What we saw on stage was more than just mechanics or macro — it was belief, synergy, and maturity taking shape. And that’s what makes this moment special.

FlyQuest’s resurgence sets the stage

Last year, FlyQuest failed to make it out of the group stage at MSI. A turbulent season and inconsistent results left fans unsure of the team’s future. But after major offseason changes and the rise of rookie talents like Massu, 2025 has become the year of redemption. With Toronto as their battleground, FlyQuest is rewriting their narrative — and it’s working.

A clean sweep, and measured confidence

On July 4th, FlyQuest stunned G2 Esports with a clean 3–0 in the playoff bracket. While G2 found occasional kills and objectives, FlyQuest stayed one step ahead in macro play and rotations. According to Massu, early game swaps set the tone for the entire series.

I think today we just had some really good swaps in the early game especially, and that kind of led to us always knowing what they wanted to do in the mid game. We were very aware of where they could play, where they could get gold, and we defended very well.

Busio, known for his calm demeanor, brought levity and confidence to the moment. He revealed that the team already felt victory in hand after Game 2 — and celebrated it with dancing backstage.

The 4th of July, so we had to win. But honestly, we didn’t even need it.

Yet, despite the 3:0 scoreline, Massu was quick to stay grounded. He emphasized that both he and the team have not yet reached their ceiling.

I still think individually I have a lot to work on, and as a team we also do, so I think we still have a lot more.

Personal growth and family support

Reflecting on his journey since last year’s MSI, Busio acknowledged the steady progress he’s made through experience and consistency.

I’m glad it’s showing, but it’s just steady improvement, and more experience is definitely helping me.

Both players were visibly moved by the presence of their families in the crowd. Busio took a moment to thank his parents:

Shout out to you guys for coming. I hope it was fun.

Meanwhile, Massu gave a heartfelt message to his mother and sister, who watched him triumph on home soil:

Thank you for coming and always helping me and supporting me. And hopefully, my sister wasn’t too weird.

FlyQuest have not only advanced to the MSI 2025 semifinals — they’ve done so convincingly, and with the kind of composure that suggests they’re not done yet. For North American fans, the win is symbolic: a new generation is taking charge, and they’re not afraid of the spotlight.
