Esports World Cup 2025 for League of Legends kicks off on July 16th — it's time to create your own Pick'Em and try to predict the top eight teams of the tournament. If you haven't made your choices yet, take advantage of our analytical forecast based on recent international results and team form.
Group Stage Format

The group stage runs from July 16–17. Eight teams will participate in the group stage — these include the 6 lowest-ranked participants from MSI 2025 and 2 teams that failed to qualify for the tournament. They will be divided into two GSL groups of four teams each. All matches will be played in a bo1 format. The top two teams from each group advance to the playoffs.
Exciting Opening Matches
Odds provided by Stake and are current at the time of publication.

Group A
Participants:
This is one of the most open groups. FlyQuest looks stronger after a positive performance at MSI — the team has shown potential capable of causing upsets. G2 Esports has extensive international experience and can bounce back even after setbacks at MSI. However, they face a challenging path. Cloud9 is a dark horse, but the team has shown inconsistency in 2025. FURIA, while actively developing, still falls short of the competition's level in the bo1 format.
Group B

Participants:
CTBC Flying Oyster is the best dark horse of this tournament after impressive performances at MSI, where they pushed T1 to play all five maps and knocked out Movistar KOI. They should advance from the group. Hanwha Life Esports, although they missed MSI, is the only team that defeated Gen.G in 2025 — if they're in good form, they shouldn't be underestimated. MKOI, despite success in LEC, were outplayed at MSI, and given their decline in form, they might struggle to compete. GAM Esports traditionally excel in the early game but haven't shown sufficient depth for the international level.
