The Best Duo for Ezreal in League of Legends
The Best Duo for Ezreal in League of Legends

Ezreal is a late-game machine in League of Legends. If you can land your skills shots, then he is the perfect champion for you as he will slice through the enemy team like butter. Ezreal is one of the stronger champions in League of Legends right now, with the champion being played frequently in both solo queue and competitive play with the latter being down to fearless draft, where Ezreal is an excellent pick for a team needing a good scaling ADC once the main champions have been picked or banned.

But to have Ezreal as that late-game monster, you’re going to need good supports for Ezreal to pair up with. Stay tuned to this article to find out the best support for Ezreal to play with in League of Legends.

Poke them out of lane

Lux is the best support to pair with Ezreal in League of Legends. Ezreal synergy with the champion comes from their ability to both poke them out of lane from range. If you’ve ever played bottom lane and had to go up against two poke champions, it’s not a fun experience as you consistently have to watch your step to avoid getting poked while trying your best to farm up without taking tons of damage, it’s a horrible lane to be in which is why Lux is always banned for me in the bottom lane.

The amazing part about Lux is she provides an easier lane for Ezreal. Her E will force the enemy champions into a certain path, allowing Ezreal to fire his Q in a singular direction. On top of that, Lux has a stun, which is great for a champion like Ezreal who is a skill shot champion. It’s much easier to hit a target when they’re not able to move! Overall this just makes Ezreal and Lux one of, if not, the best Ezreal support combos around.

Lux alternatives

If you're looking for other alternatives to Lux, don't worry, we have you covered. Karma is the next best support duo to play with Ezreal. The Ezreal plus Karma lane is very famous within the bottom lane, but unlike Lux, Karma can both poke enemies out of lane, while also buffing up Ezreal at the same time. Karma's E provides a shield while also granting movement speed, which is an amazing buff for Ezreal who constantly needs to be moving to use his skill shots.

Nami is the next best champion to play with Ezreal but you have to understand the lane needs to be aggressive in order for it to work. Ezreal requires a lot of aggression and movement if they are to get the most out of the champion. Ezreal needs to keep hitting his Q and other abilities to ensure his tear is also stacking to hit that two-item powerspike with Manamune.

If you're looking for a champion that can be more of an engage champion, then look no further than Nautilus. This champion has many ways of locking down a champion in League of Legends. His passive auto attack stuns a champion in place for a small duration, allowing for Ezreal to get consistent damage off as they are a stunned target. Additionally, if he is able to hook in a squishy target, Ezreal will be able to burst them down with their abilities while also being able to use his E to dash closer to the enemy if they are to flash away.

How to build Lux as a support in League of Legends

Lux builds a lot differently from normal champions in the bottom lane for League of Legends. In many ways, she isn’t a support champion, just a tertiary damage dealer that you don’t mind accidentally having the kills on. Quite frankly, as an Ezreal, you’re going to scale tremendously well into the game anyway once you hit your two-item power spike, so having the kills on Lux early may not be a bad thing. Let’s take a look at the build path for Lux support in League of Legends.

  • Zaz’Zak’s Realmspike: Dealing magic damage to an enemy champion will cause an explosion, which combines great with Lux’s burst damage.
  • Sorcerer’s shoes: There aren’t many great options boots-wise, so having early magic penetration makes a lot of sense.
  • Luden’s Companion: Luden’s, even when it was Luden’s Echo, has always been an amazing early-game item for Lux. Even with just this item alone you’re going to do a lot of damage and could maybe one-shot an enemy champion.
  • Stormsurge: Lux can definitely knock off 25% of a champions health in one go, so it definitely makes sense to get an item like Stormsurge.
  • Shadowflame: Lux can easily trigger the Cinderflame passive when they apply magic damage that puts enemies to low health.
  • Rabadon’s Deathcap: If you want to guarantee the enemy adc is deleted from the screen in less than a second, then Deathcap is the way to go.

If you're wondering what runes to go on Lux, here is the best rune page for Lux support in League of Legends according to Mobalytics:

Sorcery

  • Arcane Comet
  • Manaflow Band
  • Transcendence
  • Scorch

Domination

  • Cheap Shot
  • Ultimate Hunter

To conclude, Lux is the best support champion to pick with Ezreal. Even if it doesn’t offer any tangible support buffs, their poke alone will make the lane a lot easier for Ezreal, allowing him to get to his two-item power spike a lot quicker thanks to the lane going smoothly thanks to Lux.
