UAE-based Red Dune partners with Japanese studio Acquire

Red Dunes Games, an independent game developer and publisher based in Abu Dhabi (UAE), has announced a multi-year partnership with the Japanese studio ACQUIRE Corp. ACQUIRE is well-known for famous game series like Tenchu, Way of the Samurai, AKIBA’S TRIP, and Octopath Traveler. The goal of this partnership is to create original game worlds (IPs) that combine Japanese attention to detail and skill with an ambitious global creative vision.

Representatives from both studios say this collaboration is the first of its kind between the UAE and Japan in the premium gaming industry. It opens new opportunities for the international game market, which increasingly values cross-cultural approaches to creating content.

The first projects announced under this partnership cover a wide range of genres and themes:

  • Project Tremor — dynamic battles featuring huge kaiju monsters that destroy cities, mixing action with massive destruction effects.
  • Project Umbra — dark fantasy focused on hunting, atmospheric locations, and complex combat mechanics.
  • Project Shadowcar — a spy thriller with stealth and intrigue, set in the modern world.

All these games will be available on PC and major gaming consoles, with support for multiple languages. The publishers plan to actively promote the projects at international events and conferences, including the Tokyo Game Show, highlighting the global scale and ambitions of the collaboration.
