Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the release of Shadow Labyrinth – a 2D action-platformer that reimagines the classic Pac-Man franchise in a dark, dystopian style. The game was announced during The Game Awards 2024, and its release is planned for 2025 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

In Shadow Labyrinth, players take on the role of Swordsman No. 8, accompanied by a yellow floating orb named PUCK. They will explore a mysterious planet filled with remnants of past wars. The game emphasizes exploration, intricate combat, and character evolution from prey to the top of the food chain in a labyrinthine world.

This project marks a significant departure from traditional Pac-Man games, offering a story-driven experience with a darker tone. The concept of the game was first introduced in an episode of the Amazon animated anthology series titled Secret Level, which serves as an official prequel to the game. Shadow Labyrinth aims to provide a fresh perspective on the iconic Pac-Man universe, appealing to both long-time fans and newcomers.
