Rockstar Games faces a wave of criticism from players for Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced

The major update for Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC, which introduced new content, graphical improvements, and various changes, was met with criticism rather than excitement from players. Fans of the game are unhappy with Rockstar Games' execution, citing numerous issues with the new version.

PC players now have access to what should be the best possible version of GTA 5. Key additions include new content for GTA Online, such as vehicles, customization options, missions, and animals that can now be encountered across the world. Additionally, the update features a new quest involving these animals, which, in our opinion, is one of the best additions as it enhances the sense of a living world. However, despite these changes, the update has faced significant backlash.

The new version of GTA 5 has received mixed reviews on Steam, with one of the main issues being account migration:

Another major complaint is the increase in system requirements due to graphical enhancements. Since GTA 5 has a massive player base, many users play on low-end PCs or laptops. These players cannot run the updated version, and there is no crossplay between Legacy and Enhanced versions. This means if one player cannot launch the new version, both friends are forced to stay on the old one.

The graphics difference is like 15%, but the system requirements almost doubled. Complete nonsense. I’m staying on the old version until they fix this. Also, the draw distance feels like three meters—just like on the Xbox 360...

Despite the criticism and frustration, it's important to note that the Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced update was provided for free to all existing owners of the base game. Those who already had the older version now have two editions in their library: GTA 5 Legacy, which remains mostly unchanged, and GTA 5 Enhanced, featuring updated graphics, new mechanics, and additional content for GTA Online. Some bugs have already been fixed by the developers, and more patches are expected in the near future.
