Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Tease Mass Outbreak Event Coming in Early July

Starting July 3, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players can dive into a new limited-time Mass Outbreak event featuring a lineup of fan-favorite Electric-types lovingly known as Pikachu clones. These critters aren’t just adorable, they’re also showing up in huge numbers across multiple regions, with significantly boosted Shiny odds to sweeten the deal.

Who’s Showing Up

Think of this as a reunion tour for the series' cutest electrical mascots. Here’s the regions where to find them:

  • Paldea: Expect swarms of Pawmi and Dedenne
  • Kitakami: Look out for Morpeko and Pachirisu
  • Terarium: Packed with Plusle and Minun

Each of these Pokémon carries the classic Pikachu DNA, Electric typing, round faces, and energy levels that defy logic. It’s the perfect time to stock up on your favorites or finally track down that elusive Shiny variant.

When to Jump In

  • Start: Thursday, July 3 8:00 PM ET
  • End: Sunday, July 6 8:00 PM ET

Just remember: this event won’t repeat. Once it's gone, it's gone. Make sure to connect your game online and refresh the Poké Portal News before heading out.

How to Maximize Your Shiny Chances

  • Shiny Sandwiches are your best friend. Stack your odds with the right ingredients (Yellow Bell Peppers help!).
  • Already have the Shiny Charm? Even better.
  • Playing on the Switch 2? You’re in luck. Thanks to improved hardware, more wild Pokémon spawn at once, which means higher chances to encounter a Shiny.

So whether you're looking to build an all-electric dream team or just love cute chaos, this event is the perfect excuse to plug back into the game.

Here’s an additional bit of great news: Pokémon Presents is coming up on July 22 at 9 AM ET. Even though we don’t know any specifics yet, fans are already making guesses about content updates, new games, and maybe some hints towards future DLC.
