Blizzard has announced a new tank hero in Overwatch 2 named Hazard. Players will get a glimpse into the future of this exciting hero during a one-day preview this Friday before his official launch in the 14th season — just 21 days from now.

In a recently released trailer for the 13th season, it was revealed that Hazard promises to change the game meta with his dramatic backstory, unique fighting style, and abilities that reimagine the tank-fighter archetype.

The trailer introduces Hazard as the leader of a group of renegades called the "Phreaks," whose mission is to take down the infamous scientist-biologist Moira O'Deorain. The events unfold at the University of Oasis — Moira's high-tech lab, where her morally questionable experiments extend beyond genetic engineering. Among Moira's numerous projects, a mysterious sphere with black matter stands as a central element, but its true purpose remains an intriguing mystery.

In the trailer, Hazard and his team are shown infiltrating the lab, leaving their mark with neon graffiti reading "Phreaks" and bullet-riddled walls. In a dramatic moment, Hazard injects himself with the black substance, causing a frenzied transformation that unleashes a wave of destruction. He rampages through armed guards with incredible fury, hinting that Hazard might be a former subject of Moira's experiments seeking revenge.

The trailer not only delves into Hazard's story but also hints at his in-game abilities. The mysterious substance transforms into pink crystalline formations that become the core of his attacks. From what is seen in the trailer, these crystals might be able to:
