The company has made an official announcement regarding a special Switch 2 Direct broadcast on April 2, 2025, at 16:00 Kyiv time (6:00 a.m PT, 9:00 a.m ET). The presentation will unveil major information regarding the next-gen console, such as its look, technical specs, and the launch library.

The Switch 2 will feature a larger screen, black Joy-Con with colored accents, improved kickstand, and additional controller button. The Joy-Con has been rumored to be usable with PC games. The system will be powered with an Nvidia Tegra chip with Arm architecture to enhance performance but will not be on the same level as the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Confirmed announcements include Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokémon Legends: Z-A with a rumored new Mario Kart game reveal. The release date has not been made official but speculation indicates a late 2025 release date. Nintendo will set about refining its successful hybrid console strategy to remain market leader.

There will be additional Nintendo Treehouse Live streams on April 3 and 4 at 17:00 Kyiv time with in-depth gameplay from the launch games on the new system to follow the main presentation.

It should be noted that Nintendo has not revealed event information and no news about the presentation program has leaked so far. The fans will have to wait until the official announcement to learn about the new console and its specifications.
