Dataminers have discovered files indicating five new playable heroes and several unexpected team combinations in Marvel Rivals that might appear in the game soon. These findings emerged just days after the release of the April 24 patch for the second season, and while NetEase Games has not officially confirmed anything, the discoveries are already being actively discussed on social media.
The leak source was user XOX_LEAK, known for accuracy in previous Marvel Rivals datamines. However, they note that the newly discovered heroes are currently much less developed than, for example, Phoenix or Daredevil, so their release might be delayed. Nevertheless, considering NetEase's plans to shorten season durations and release one hero per month starting from the third season, the wait may not be long.
The five new heroes include:
Armor
In the comics, her name is Hisako Ichiki, and she first appeared in the Astonishing X-Men series in 2004. Armor is one of the new generation of X-Men. Although she is not widely known to the general public, her appearance in Marvel Snap has made her popular among the modern fan base. Her mutation allows her to create a glowing exoskeleton of pure psionic energy, granting her superhuman strength, near-invulnerability, and the ability to become gigantic.
Role | Skill 1 | Skill 2 | Skill 3 | Skill 4 | Skill 5 |
Vanguard | Unbreakable Object | Psionic Armor - 1. Form | Psionic Armor - 2. Form | Psionic Armor - 3. Form | Mountain-Breaking Strike |
Hive
Among all five heroes, Hive is perhaps the most unexpected. This character is the embodiment of a parasitic colony under HYDRA's control. He has the ability to infect and control others, turning his victims into puppets. Hive first appeared in Secret Warriors and later became recognizable thanks to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. His comic history is not very rich, but his menacing aura can add an original tone to the game.
Role | Skill 1 | Skill 2 | Skill 3 |
Vanguard | Deadly Parasite | Painful Lashing | Accelerated Transformation |
Amaranth
This character is a newcomer to the Marvel universe. Amaranth was introduced only in 2023 in the Scarlet Witch comic series as Wanda Maximoff's apprentice. She combines chaos magic and classic sorcery, giving her a dangerous yet refined magical arsenal.
Role | Skill 1 | Skill 2 | Skill 3 | Skill 4 |
Duelist | Chaos Spike | Spell Counter | Chaos Rain | Frenzied Deterrence |
White Fox
This hero completes the list of leaks. White Fox is Ami Han, the last of the legendary Korean kumiho, soul-foxes with supernatural powers. She is a member of the Agents of Atlas, and thus already has connections with Marvel Rivals heroes — Luna Snow and Iron Fist.
In the game, White Fox is also a strategist. She uses abilities related to manipulation, stealth, and mysticism. Her list of capabilities includes:
Role | Skill 1 | Skill 2 | Skill 3 | Skill 4 |
Strategist | Life Drain | Life Transfer | Rapid HypnosisRain | Fox Shadow Evasion |
Forge
Among all the names mentioned in the leak, Forge is the most familiar to X-Men fans. First appearing in Uncanny X-Men in 1984, he is known as a mutant inventor capable of creating virtually any device he can imagine. This engineering genius with a touch of mysticism is a true wild card in any team.
Role | Skill 1 | Skill 2 | Skill 3 | Skill 4 |
Strategist | Structural Analysis | Creative Modification | Spirit Realm Walking | Limitation-Breaking Modification |
All characters have at least a partial description of abilities and defined game roles, indicating that they are already in development for future updates.
Although none of these characters have had a major appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, their inclusion points to NetEase's desire to expand Marvel Rivals with both iconic and lesser-known heroes. The role distribution also demonstrates an attempt to balance the game lineup, which has so far predominantly consisted of duelists.
The information leak is not limited to heroes. Additional files indicate new team combinations for existing characters:
While the exact mechanics of these tandems are not yet known, fans are actively discussing potential features — especially the possibility of a "Venomized" Jeff.
Even if some of these characters seem too obscure, the game's history already has examples of unexpected favorites. Characters like Luna Snow or Jeff the Land Shark were also little-known at the start but quickly won players' hearts.
