Steamforged Games has officially announced Helldivers 2: The Board Game—a tabletop adaptation of the popular cooperative shooter. This tactical board game for 1-4 players will launch a crowdfunding campaign on the Gamefound platform on April 8, 2025.

Staying True to the Original

The board game will support tactical gameplay for 1-4 players, recreating the chaotic battles and satirical humor that made Helldivers 2 a mega-hit. Players will take on the roles of elite soldiers fighting for Super Earth, facing evolutionary threats, risky missions, and the ever-present danger of "friendly fire." Iconic weapons like pistols, machine guns, and flamethrowers will be available, along with strategic tools such as turrets and airstrikes.

Steamforged Games has extensive experience in creating tabletop versions of video games, including projects like Dark Souls, Resident Evil, and Elden Ring. Co-founder and Creative Director Mat Hart expressed excitement for the new project:

Details about the gameplay are still scarce, but Steamforged has confirmed that players will face dynamic threats, unpredictable objectives, and the series' trademark danger of friendly fire. The board game will feature detailed miniatures, including enemy figures like the Brood Commander, which has already been showcased.

The board version of Helldivers 2 will follow a crowdfunding model, similar to previous Steamforged projects. This means backers will receive exclusive content and bonuses for early support.
