The God of War franchise is celebrating 20 years by releasing remasters of the franchise's initial pieces. The source is insider Jeff Grubb, who says official confirmation may appear on March 22, 2025 - the anniversary of when the first God of War game launched in North America in 2005. If true, remasters may join in on such a special anniversary for such an iconic franchise.
There are reports that remasters may include not only the first but also several of the franchise's originals, such as God of War II, Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, and Ascension. These games may have their graphics redone, their current platform optimization upgraded, and probably additional features to bring them up to today's game feel.

The original God of War game was innovative in its time, ranking amongst PlayStation's most legendary exclusives. The game won over gamers for its suspenseful gameplay, legendary saga of life for Spartan warrior Kratos and battle against gods on Mount Olympus.
At the time of writing, Santa Monica Studio and Sony have made no official statements regarding remasters. Nonetheless, such reports have considerable interest for fans who expect to view the vintage God of War games on today's consoles.
