Epic Games has officially announced the launch of the new Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3, titled Galactic Battle in Star Wars style, set to release on May 2. This will bring a massive crossover to the popular battle royale. Among the new features are the debut of Darth Jar Jar, a five-week event, and the in-game ability of lightning power, and more.

The Fortnite collaboration with Star Wars was showcased during the Star Wars Celebration in Japan. It turns out that this won't be just a set of skins, as is often the case with various collaborations. It's a five-week seasonal event built in the format of a true saga, with new weekly content leading up to early June. This is only the third instance in Fortnite's history where an entire season is dedicated to a single franchise, following two seasons focused on the Marvel universe.

The event was introduced by Ahmed Best during his appearance, known to Star Wars fans for his role as Jar Jar Binks in "The Phantom Menace" and Jedi Kelleran Beq in "The Mandalorian." Best presented a new trailer featuring Jar Jar in a Sith style, which only realized a fan theory.

In the Galactic Battle battle pass, there will be skins of iconic Star Wars characters, including Emperor Palpatine and Mace Windu, as well as unique mixes like the Wookiee Cuddle Team Leader. Players will also be able to pilot X-Wings and TIE Fighters, and the map will feature themed zones that will change throughout the season.

The five-part saga includes weekly events with their own storylines:
Event | Date |
Imperial Takeover | May 2 |
The Pull of the Force | May 8 |
Mandalorian Rising | May 22 |
Star Destroyer Bombardment | May 29 |
Death Star Sabotage | June 7 |
Each week, players can expect new gameplay twists and story integrations from different Star Wars eras, culminating in a live final event already being called a "galactic-scale event," where players themselves will determine the fate of the universe.

Despite leaks about possible Leia and Qui-Gon Jinn skins, Epic has yet to confirm the full list of characters. However, the trailer and cosplays at the event hint that there will be plenty of surprises and deep Star Wars references.
