Epic Games Teases Potential New Fortnite Skins with AI-Inspired Design

Epic Games is conducting another Fortnite player survey regarding potential future cosmetic items, and one peculiar skin has sparked curiosity since the character concept design appears to be inspired by or fully generated by artificial intelligence.

Although Fortnite is a free-to-play game, its cosmetic shop updates daily, offering dozens and hundreds of different skins and other decorative items. What started in Chapter 1 with six to eight items a day has transformed into a massive store with over ten pages that update daily or weekly.

To keep up with demand and community tastes, Epic Games regularly surveys players about new designs to gather fan feedback. History shows that many of these do make it into the game.

The latest such survey, highlighted by user X (Twitter) @j2shuaa, includes 34 new skin concepts. Among them, one has particularly caught fans' attention—it mimics typical AI art errors: a third hand in a pocket and extra, unnaturally placed, deformed fingers.

The strange anatomy has led to speculation that this skin intentionally mocks the characteristic flaws of AI art, particularly the well-known issues with rendering hands. The surreal, almost grotesque design appearance has led fans to suggest it would be perfect for Fortnitemares—the annual Fortnite event dedicated to Halloween—or some other themed event.

Whether this skin makes it into the game depends on player feedback from the current survey. Epic's track record shows that it is quite possible: many items from past surveys have eventually appeared in the Battle Pass, Crew Pack, or simply in the shop—often aligning with seasonal events or storyline updates.

According to Fortnite.gg, Epic currently has around 350 unreleased skins from such surveys. While not all of them will see the light of day, a significant portion does reach players, especially if they are well-received by the community.
