The role-playing game Avowed created by Obsidian Entertainment, initially to be released in late 2024, has been officially shifted to February 18, 2025. The adjustment was to grant developers more time to hone and finalize the gameplay to provide players with the best possible experience.

Story and Gameplay

In Avowed, you control a character of a member of the Aedyr Empire that is sent to unravel a mysterious plague that is referred to as the "Dream Scourge." The game has a large open world that is paired with a highly evolved character progression system that has you mastering a set of magical abilities and combat mechanics. The game is all about having players engaged in a high-fantasy world in which you unravel secrets, battle battles, and interact with a cast of characters.

Platforms and Accessibility

Avowed will be launched on PC and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play it on day one without any additional fee.

Future Plans

Obsidian Entertainment also confirmed that there would be a series of future content updates in the making, including story expansions and new areas to explore. The game would be constantly updated, offering players new challenges and adventures to savor. Pricing and Pre-order Pre-orders for the game are already open. The game is offered in a regular edition for $69.99 or in an expanded one for $89.99. The expanded one is not only a basic game, but also two premium character skin packages, a digital soundtrack and artbook, and a jump start to play 5 days earlier than release day. The pre-order also comes with bonuses that you won't receive otherwise, i.e., a set of a weapon and magical artifact to use in initial segments of the game.
