PEAK is no stranger to chaos, and every update seems to crank the madness up a notch. After the infamous Cannibalism update shook things up, the Mesa update arrived with even more dangers, new items, and a fresh monster to survive. Among the additions like the Scout Cannon, Balloons, and Aloe Vera, one item has quickly caught everyone’s attention: Dynamite.
Where to Find Dynamite in PEAK
Dynamite can only be found in the Mesa biome, which replaced the old Alpine biome after the update. Mesa is a sandy, sun-scorched region and now the third area you’ll encounter after Shore and Forest.
Unlike most items that appear in luggage boxes, Dynamite is simply found lying on the ground. Its bright red sticks are easy to spot, but be careful, it’s not just for decoration. If you wait too long after picking it up, it will explode in your hands.

What Does Dynamite Actually Do?
Dynamite is exactly what it sounds like, it blows up. And not in a helpful, resourceful way either. When thrown, it creates a powerful explosion that can injure you (and your friends) badly.
Here’s what you need to know:
- It’s more harmful than useful. Most players agree Dynamite causes chaos rather than offering any survival advantage.
- Best used for laughs. Tossing it around can be entertaining, especially in multiplayer, but don’t expect to unlock any special achievements with it.
- Explosions hurt. Unlike goofy items in other updates, Dynamite is genuinely dangerous and can end your climb early if you’re careless.

While Dynamite is one of the flashiest additions in the Mesa update, it’s not exactly a “must-have” survival tool. It’s more of a wildcard, something to throw for fun, or to watch your group descend into chaos when someone can’t resist picking it up.
