Every year, on 24 May, gamers celebrate World Video Game Day. It was on this day in 1972 that the world's first commercial game console, Magnavox Odyssey, was presented under the leadership of Ralph Bayer and a small group of people.

This console was the impetus for other developers to carve out a new niche in the market, creating new game consoles and video games for them that were popular with people, including children, teenagers, and even the older generation.
