The Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League (PUACL) 2025 Finals are set to deliver an electrifying showdown in Shinjuku, Tokyo, where the top 16 professional teams across Asia will compete in one of the most important S-tier Pokémon UNITE tournaments to date. Held at the Sumitomo Building Triangle Plaza on March 29–30, this high-stakes offline event will crown Asia’s champion and determine who earns a direct qualification to the 2025 Pokémon UNITE World Championship.

This is the first time the PUACL Finals will be held live in Japan, and it promises to be one of the year’s premier cybersport spectacles.

                   
                   

The Battle Begins

With over a dozen teams representing the best of Southeast Asia, Japan, India, and Greater China, this tournament is more than just a regional title, it’s a fierce proving ground for strategic brilliance, mechanical skill, and esports dominance.

  • FENNEL – the powerhouse from Japan,
  • Alter Ego – reigning champions from Southeast Asia,
  • Luminosity Gaming – Canada’s rising star team,
  • Revenant XSpark and Utopia – two fierce lineups that are looking to make a major impact on the international scene.
                        
                        

Tournament Format

The tournament unfolds in two stages:

The Group Stage features four brackets competing in a Single Round Robin format. From every group, the leading two teams will move on to the next round. 

The best eight teams in the Championships will be placed in a Single Elimination Bracket, fighting each other until only one is left. This victorious team will then go directly to the World Championships.

As of the time of publication, the official prize pool for PUACL 2025 has yet to be announced. For the champions of 2024, the prize pool of $60,000 USD in 2024 translates to a whopping $30,000 USD for each champion. In 2023, the total prize money pool was \$50,000 USD. Along with monetary rewards, the single greatest award that can be given is the qualifying spot at the 2025 UNITE World Championship which undoubtedly places a great deal of pressure and prestige over every single match in Shinjuku.

This two-day event isn’t just about the action on the screen, it’s also a full-blown fan experience.

Admission is 100% free, with doors opening at 8:30 AM and matches beginning at 9:00 AM on both days. All fans need to do is register through the official PUACL2025 LINE account on the day of the event for an entry ticket (location verification required). The first 5,000 guests each day will receive exclusive commemorative badges, different designs for each day.With a seating capacity of approximately 1,500 attendees, the venue is expected to be packed with passionate fans eager to witness the rise of Asia’s best team, one that will earn a direct qualification to the 2025 Pokémon UNITE World Championship.

In addition to the high-level esports action, PUACL2025 is also hosting a variety of side attractions that connect the Pokémon community like never before:

• Lucky Draws – 100 winners per day can score official UNITE merchandise like jerseys and puzzles.

• Pokémon Meet & Greets – Snap photos with Pikachu, Snorlax, and Mimikyu!

• Pro Player Interactions – Get tips or just say hi to the pros competing on stage.

• Pokémon UNITE TAISENKAI: “Shinjuku no Jin” – Team up with others on-site for mini battles.

• Tryout Events – Learn high-level tactics directly from the best in the game.
