Marvel Rivals Mid-Season 2 Patch Notes — Version 20250430

NetEase Games released the mid-season patch for the 2nd season of Marvel Rivals (version 20250430), which became available on April 30th. The update introduced some balance changes, improved hero appearances, and bug fixes. This patch also lays the groundwork for the upcoming season 2.5 update, which will introduce a new hero — Ultron — and rework characters like Scarlet Witch, Rocket Raccoon, and Mister Fantastic.

Hero Balance Changes in Marvel Rivals in the New Patch 20250430

Several heroes received targeted buffs and nerfs for better alignment with the current meta-game.

Hero
Changes
Captain America
Hero's health reduced from 650 to 600 units.
Doctor Strange
The cost of Strange's ultimate ability decreased from 3400 to 3100, allowing more frequent use of the Eye of Agamotto.
Spider-Man
The attack radius of the hero's Amazing Combo reduced from 5 to 4 meters for more precise balance.
Groot
Groot's Ironwood Wall ability became less durable — its health reduced from 700 to 600.
Adam Warlock
He received a new effect: critical hits reduce the cooldown of his Avatar Life Stream ability by 1 second.
Cloak and Dagger
Heroes strengthened in both roles: damage from Darkforce Cloak increased to 80/s, and damage from Dagger's Lightforce increased from 15 to 18.
Mantis
Increased damage from the Life Energy Blast ability hit from 50 to 55.
Luna Snow
Changed damage reduction from the Light & Dark Ice ability: now at 40 meters, it is 75% instead of 60%.
Winter Soldier
The hero received a significant change: his Tainted Voltage ability now has two charge levels, increasing his combat threat.

Additionally, a new passive benefit was added to the team ability of Captain America and Winter Soldier: nearby allies now receive a bonus of 50 health units during a leap.

Doctor Strange Skin Fix

The current update addressed the "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" costume, which caused player dissatisfaction due to the lack of promised visual effects. Now, the zombie-hand trail is fully integrated, as shown in promotional materials. The skin also received updated voice effects to better align with its grim theme.

New Hero Sets and Costume Improvements

Two new sets are now available in the in-game store: Winter Soldier – Thunderbolts and Black Panther – Damisa-Sarki. Thor's "Lord of Asgard" costume has been updated for better visibility — no more aiming issues. Players can also switch individual costume sound effects back to default through the settings menu.

Bug Fixes

In this patch, developers fixed several bugs. Notably, Wolverine now deals correct damage during aerial attacks, and Cloak and Dagger's ultimate ability no longer bypasses Magneto or Hulk's defenses. A bug causing Star Knight to lose speed during Rocket Propulsion was fixed, as well as Mister Fantastic's incorrect enemy knockback in portals.

Map errors were also addressed, including Loki's illusion exploit on the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown map and an issue with control point displays in competitive mode.
