Naturally, the question arises: how to upgrade the needle in Silksong, is it even possible, and what is required to do so? The good news is — yes! Where to find the needle upgrade in Silksong
You can upgrade the needle in Silksong thanks to the NPC Pinmaster Plinney, who works in one of the buildings in Bellhart. However, to interact with him, you first need to save Bellhart from the curse. If you've already done this, here's how you can find Plinney:
- Head to the Bellhart location in Silksong.
- From the bench (save point) in Bellhart, go left.
- Jump onto the platforms, climb up, and then head right.
- Ahead, you'll see a door with a flask symbol — bypass it and move to the next building. That's where Pinmaster Plinney is, who will sharpen your needle, enhancing its attack power.
First needle upgrade in Silksong
Talk to Pinmaster Plinney. Read or skip the dialogue until the character offers to sharpen the needle for you. Accept his offer by selecting "Yes". The first upgrade is completely free: you don't need to do or pay anything to get it.
After this, you'll see a cutscene where a bug upgrades Hornet's weapon. The sharpened needle will automatically appear in your inventory — you don't need to equip or perform any additional actions.
Second needle upgrade in Silksong
After talking to Pinmaster Plinney, you'll receive a task to bring Pale Oil from the Citadel. After completing this task, Plinney will again offer to upgrade the needle to the next level to increase its attack power.
How to lift the curse from Bellhart's residents
You can upgrade your needle weapon in Silksong at the Bellhart location with Pinmaster Plinney. But there's a problem: once you arrive at this location (or maybe you're already there), you'll see that all the residents seem to be enslaved and suspended in a kind of trance, making it impossible to interact with them, talk, and all buildings are locked.
Here, you automatically receive a task to lift the curse from Bellhart and its residents. To do this, you need to defeat the boss Widow. You can access her after you unlock the Wall Jump ability.
If you haven't defeated Widow, you won't be able to upgrade the needle, as currently, only Pinmaster Plinney can do it!
To reach Widow, follow the same path as to Sister Splinter. However, if you previously jumped left after the platforms, now jump right onto the wall, and behind it, break the barrier of debris. Go through the tunnel down until you reach Widow. Defeat her to cleanse Bellhart of the curse.
