The Mansions (A Safehouse in the Hills) update introduced the first fully fledged story content in GTA Online featuring Michael De Santa. To access these missions, players must complete several mandatory steps. Below is a clear and structured guide.

Purchasing a Mansion

To begin, you must purchase one of the new mansions. This is the main requirement, without which the storyline will not start. Mansions are available via the in-game real estate website and belong to the premium class. After purchasing one, your property will gain new interactive features as well as mission starting points.

Initial Missions from Avi Schwartzman

After buying a mansion, an icon with the letter A appears on the map — this is your first interaction point for the chain of setup missions. You need to:

• Go to the marker and answer the incoming call.
• Complete all of Avi’s preliminary tasks. These include several operations involving intel gathering, infiltration, escorting, and clearing enemy areas.
• After completing each mission, the next one unlocks automatically.

This is a linear set of missions, and you must complete all of them without skipping.

Activating Michael’s Mission

After finishing all of Avi’s tasks, stay in Freemode. After some time, you will receive an important phone call that unlocks the main mission with Michael, titled Home Sweet Home. It is important not to leave the session or switch to another mode before receiving the call. If you stay in Freemode, the event will trigger automatically.

Main Mission: Home Sweet Home

In this mission, the player interacts with Michael directly for the first time in GTA Online. The task includes elements of stealth, security, pursuit, and scripted sequences. Completing it opens up additional interactions with the mansion-related content.

Are There Additional Missions with Michael?

At the time of the update’s release, there is one full story mission featuring Michael. The remaining tasks are the preparatory missions from Avi. More content may be added over time with future updates.
