In Silksong, there are numerous shops and places where you can spend Rosary Beads (one of the two in-game currencies). However, acquiring them may not be as challenging as it is time-consuming. Instead of spending hours collecting Rosary Beads, you'd probably want to do it faster and immediately purchase the necessary items to continue your journey, right? That's why we've compiled some of the best ways to quickly earn Rosary Beads in Silksong.
Why You Need Rosary Beads in Silksong
The primary currency in Hollow Knight: Silksong is Rosary Beads, which have replaced Geo from the original game. Beads are essential for nearly every aspect of progress:
- unlocking access to benches,
- unlocking travel stations between locations,
- shopping in various stores (consumables, maps, compasses, weapons, keys, etc.).
Without beads, you won't be able to unlock certain aspects of the game, acquire valuable items that simplify navigation, and gain access to other important game mechanics, the main one being the benches themselves. They serve as save points, as without them, you'll die frequently and reappear at the last save point, which might have been far away.

Due to the constant need to spend Rosary Beads in Silksong, it's important to know how to earn them more and faster by using all possible methods and points for this.

How to Get More Rosary Beads
Over time, you'll have more than enough beads, but at the beginning, they are very valuable and needed, and you'll be short on them. While running and exploring the world, you can earn beads in various ways, including:
- finding secret places and caches with beads that can be broken to collect beads (do not regenerate),
- killing certain types of enemies that drop beads,
- completing tasks that may reward you with beads.

The most reliable source of beads is enemies. Small opponents, especially at the beginning, rarely drop anything, but humanoid enemies almost always drop a few beads. Starting from The Marrow location, bead drops become a stable source of loot.
Additionally, enemies always respawn after resting at a bench and moving between locations. This way, you can exploit this method by killing simple enemies to earn beads along a specific route.

Best Places for Farming Rosary Beads in Silksong
- Mosshome
The most effective place for farming beads at the start of the game is Mosshome, to the left of the first Shakra point in The Marrow. From the bench near the shop, head west into Mosshome. The mossy caves are filled with weak enemies, each dropping about five beads. Poisonous snails and jumping bugs make up most of the population, and they can be easily taken down with a few simple hits.

After clearing, return to the bench, rest, and repeat the process. Each cycle yields a stable number of beads, and since Shakra is nearby, you can immediately spend them on maps and navigation tools. This is the perfect way to quickly get your first upgrades and items.

- Greymoor
As you explore deeper regions, you'll find more lucrative routes. Later, one of the best will be the Greymoor location near the Halfway Home bench. Equipped with Silklance and Magnetite Brooch, you can quickly destroy groups of enemies. One cycle yields nearly fifty beads in less than a minute, making it one of the best options later in the game.

- Deep Docks
Another good spot is in Deep Docks. Here, enemies drop seven beads, and the nearest bench allows for quick route restarts. While this place isn't as profitable as Greymoor, access to it opens earlier, helping you gather a significant stash of beads before entering this location.

- Choral Chambers
Upon reaching the Choral Chambers location, bead farming becomes extremely efficient. Near the Grand Bellway Ventrica Station, two Pilgrims can be defeated in a few seconds, yielding approximately twenty-eight beads per cycle. Using Thread Storm or similar strong abilities, you can endlessly repeat the route. In fifteen minutes, you can gather about fifteen hundred beads here, which is more than enough for any expenses at this stage of the game.

In general, you don't have to stick strictly to these locations: you can always find a better spot with more enemies close to a bench to exploit their farming this way, rather than running through the entire location, which would certainly take longer.
How to Avoid Losing Rosary Beads in Silksong
Upon death, all collected beads scatter. They appear in a cocoon at the place of Hornet's death, and by breaking it with an attack, you can retrieve the lost beads. However, if you die a second time without retrieving them, those beads disappear forever. This can be very unpleasant, especially if there were a lot of them.

However, players can insure themselves using Rosary Strings. These are special items that keep beads in your inventory, protecting them from loss upon death until you decide to break them yourself. They can be purchased from some merchants or crafted later for eighty beads.
Note: you spend 80 beads to receive 60 at any convenient moment. This means they return in slightly smaller quantities than you invested, but they are insured against dangerous areas, bosses, and locations. After all, it's better to lose 20 than 100.
