Worm Tooth is a rare resource in Dune: Awakening, used to craft a special melee weapon — the Unfixed Crysknife. This item cannot be found in containers or purchased from traders. There is only one, rather unusual, way to obtain it — by allowing yourself to be eaten by a sandworm.
Before you set out to hunt for a Worm Tooth, make sure to empty your inventory. Any equipment you're carrying when the worm kills you will be lost. It's best to store all valuable items at your base or in a nearby tradepost. Also, make sure your respawn point is set to a safe location nearby.
To be eaten by a worm, you need to go to an open desert area. The most effective place for this is the Eastern region of Vermillius Gap. Players most frequently report rapid worm appearances there.
Once you’re on flour sand, don’t run or jump. Stay still for a few seconds — the sandworm will sense the vibrations and emerge. If you do everything correctly, the worm will swallow you, and a death animation will appear on screen.
After being eaten, you’ll automatically respawn at your selected spawn point. If this was your first encounter with a sandworm, you may also see a “Fremen dream” — a special scene that unlocks access to a new mount: the worm cycle.
In most cases, a Worm Tooth will appear in your inventory after respawning. However, some players report that the tooth doesn't always drop on the first try. If that happens, simply repeat the process.
This resource is required to craft the Unfixed Crysknife — a high-damage combat knife with limited durability. To craft this weapon, you’ll also need plant fiber and access to the appropriate crafting schematic. The schematic can be unlocked by completing one of the trials — the Trial of Aql.
The Crysknife is excellent for PvP, raids, or fights against strong NPCs, but due to its fragility, it's not recommended for regular encounters. It's best to have a few of them prepared in advance.
Worm Tooth is a risky but valuable resource, and obtaining it adds a sense of ritual and adventure to the game.
