Like most games in the souls-like genre, Black Myth: Wukong is filled with various secrets just waiting to be discovered.
One of these secrets is access to a hidden boss. So, if you're wondering where to find all the bells in Black Myth: Wukong or how to locate the secret boss Elder Jinchi, we’ll guide you through it in our walkthrough.
Location of the First Bell in Black Myth: Wukong
The first bell in Black Myth: Wukong can be found in the Forest of Wolves area, specifically in the Outside the Forest zone. Use the shrine to teleport there.
Once you arrive, proceed straight along the road in front of you (to the right of the shrine). Cross a wooden bridge, turn left behind a rock, and continue onward. You'll encounter enemy wolves along the way; you can either ignore them or take them out. Continue through the torii gates, next to which lies a stone Buddha head.
You’ll find yourself in an arena where you’ll have to defeat the boss Yaoguai Chief Guangzh. If you've already done this before, just keep moving forward. There, you'll see a wooden log with a bell that you need to strike.
Location of the Second Bell in Black Myth: Wukong
The next bell in Black Myth: Wukong is located in the Bamboo Grove, specifically on the Snake Trail. Head there using the shrine. Turn around and climb the stone stairs.
At the top, you'll see a wooden bridge that you need to cross, then continue along the main path. It will lead you to the torii gates. Turn left and descend the slope, continuing along the main path. Stay on track, and you won’t get lost.
Eventually, you'll reach a bamboo forest with a stone and a torch beside it. Go around it and head towards the nearby rocks. Look for a passage between the rocks; a torch and a statue will serve as your landmarks.
You'll enter an arena to face another boss, Guangmou. After defeating him, climb the steps that will lead you directly to the second secret bell in Black Myth: Wukong.
Location of the Third Bell in Black Myth: Wukong
The third and final bell in Black Myth: Wukong is also in the Bamboo Grove but in the Marsh of White Mist area. Once you arrive, follow the path straight ahead, which will take you through torii gates and onto a wooden bridge (where you saved Shen).
Keep going until you descend to the water. Walk into the pond, where you’ll once again have to fight a boss, Whiteclad Noble. After defeating or bypassing him, go left of the temple and pass through the rocky tunnel.
You'll encounter some enemies along the way. After dealing with them, continue along the main road to the very end. There, you'll find the third bell.
What Happens When You Ring All Three Bells in Black Myth: Wukong
Once you ring all three bells in Black Myth: Wukong, a short cutscene will play, and you’ll be automatically transported to the secret area, Ancient Guanyuin Temple. You’ll also earn the Enduring Echoes achievement.
Climb the stairs through the pailou gate. You can activate the Grand Chamber shrine and open a few chests to receive items there. After that, you can open the gate that leads to the arena where the secret boss Elder Jinchi awaits.
How to Defeat Elder Jinchi
Defeating Elder Jinchi in Black Myth: Wukong isn’t too difficult. However, you should watch out for his explosive minions, which can cause significant trouble if you’re caught off guard.
Use the opportunities to attack the boss, and retreat as soon as you see Elder Jinchi preparing for his next attack. During the fight, one important thing to remember is that if the boss rises into the air, don’t let his minions get close to him, as they will heal him.
How to Obtain the Fireproof Mantle
Once you defeat the boss, you’ll be automatically transported back to the area with the third bell in the Marsh of White Mist. Nearby, you’ll see the corpse of an anthropomorphic wolf on a tree. Examine it to obtain the legendary item Fireproof Mantle, which grants immunity to fire and increases focus when activated.
