In the world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Colour of Lumina is a particularly valuable resource. It is used to activate powerful passive effects (Luminas) that alter your playstyle and enhance your characters’ stats. This resource does not drop randomly, so farming it requires planning. Below are the most effective methods for obtaining it.
The most popular farming method involves the battle against the Chromatic Danseuse, a unique enemy who constantly summons duplicates. These clones each drop 5 units of Colour of Lumina upon defeat. The key is not to kill the Danseuse herself, as doing so will end the fight and make the farm inaccessible until the next playthrough (New Game+). Keep her alive, destroy only the clones, and repeat the process. Some players report earning over 1000 units per hour, making this the most efficient method in the game.
Another good option is the repeated battle against the Clair Obscur boss in the Monolith area. After defeating her for the first time, players can return to the final checkpoint, walk back a bit, use a launch point, and trigger the fight again. Each victory grants 5 units of Colour of Lumina. This method is slightly slower than the previous one but is ideal for those who have completed the story and want a stable way to farm the resource. Expect around 200 units per hour with this method.
In the Renoir’s Drafts location, there is a merchant who engages you in battle alongside two enemies. Defeating him rewards you with 1 to 2 units of Colour of Lumina. With the right setup and fast execution (under 20 seconds per fight), this method allows regular farming. If your team is high-level and well-equipped, you can repeat the fight quickly through the nearby checkpoint for consistent returns.
The method depends on your current progress in the game. If the Chromatic Danseuse is still alive, that’s your best farming opportunity. If she’s already defeated, then focus on Clair Obscur rematches or the merchant fight in Renoir’s Drafts. All methods are viable but vary in efficiency and requirements.
While farming, it’s best to use characters with strong AoE damage and passives that reduce skill cooldowns. Also, consider investing in Luminas that increase resource gains or improve effectiveness against groups of enemies.
