However, not all players want to play against other platforms, and this has to be managed. The approach to cross-platform play depends on the platform you choose.

How Crossplay Works in BO7

Crossplay in BO7 is enabled by default. Console players can toggle this feature freely, and all in-game progress and unlocks are synchronized thanks to the unified account system. This makes the experience more flexible, but crossplay settings vary across platforms.

How to Enable or Disable Crossplay on Xbox

On Xbox, crossplay is managed through the console’s system settings rather than in-game options. These settings determine whether your profile is allowed to join cross-network matches.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Open the “Settings” Menu From the Xbox home screen, go to the system settings.
2. Go to “Online Safety & Family” This section contains all tools that control access to online features.
3. Select “Privacy & Online Safety” Here you can configure permissions and restrictions for your profile.
4. Open “Xbox Privacy” This section manages how your profile behaves in online games.
5. Choose “View Details & Customize” This leads to the advanced privacy options.
6. Open “Communication & Multiplayer” This menu contains all settings related to online interaction.

Crossplay on PC — Important Note

As of the writing of this article, there is no option to disable crossplay on PC.

Unlike other platforms, there is no way of toggling crossplay on or off in the PC version of BO7, and Steam and Battle.net players are matched with console players by default.

Crossplay is always active and can only be disabled if a future update allows for crossplay to the PC version. This setting would likely be located in the network options.
