Creating a New User Profile on Nintendo Switch 2 allows each player to have their own save data, settings, and access to online features. Up to eight separate profiles can be registered on one console.

By default, the first created user profile is assigned as the primary account. This means all digital games and content purchased and downloaded by this primary profile will be available to other users on the console, even if they are not linked to a Nintendo Account or haven’t bought the game themselves.

Guide to creating a new profile:

1. Open the main menu.
2. Go to System Settings.
3. Scroll down to Users and select Add User.
4. Press Next to continue.
5. Choose an avatar for the new profile. You can select a standard character image or create your own Mii.
6. Enter a nickname for the profile and confirm by pressing OK.

After this, the system will prompt you to link the profile with a Nintendo Account.

How to link a Nintendo Account:

After creating a profile, you can:

• Sign in with an existing Nintendo Account.
• Create a new Nintendo Account.

Linking with a Nintendo Account grants access to:

• Downloading games from the Nintendo eShop.
• Cloud saving of game progress.
• Online multiplayer and other online features.
• Syncing friends and achievements.

How to delete a user profile:

1. Go to System Settings > Users.
2. Select the profile you want to delete.
3. Press Delete User.
4. Confirm the deletion.

Deleting a profile will erase all save data associated with it.

Although you can create a profile without linking it to a Nintendo Account, most online features will be unavailable without this step. It is recommended to link the profile with a Nintendo Account immediately for the full user experience.
