Best Passives 

At the top of the ranking is Med-Kit. This universal bonus provides two additional stimulants and extends their effect by a few seconds. Because of this, it’s considered an absolute must-have in any build — extra healing is never wasted.

Almost as strong is Engineering Kit, which grants two extra grenade slots and reduces recoil when crouching or prone. It works perfectly with machine guns and other weapons where recoil control is critically important.

Strong but Situational Passives

Some bonuses aren’t mandatory but can be extremely useful under the right conditions. For example, Democracy Protects gives you a chance to survive a lethal hit and prevents bleeding — perfect for those who often find themselves in the thick of the fight.

Reinforced Epaulettes enhance melee combat, speed up reloads, and give a chance to avoid severe limb damage. This passive noticeably boosts survivability, especially against Terminids.

Pistol enthusiasts often pick Gunslinger, as it greatly reduces recoil and shortens reload times for secondary weapons. Meanwhile, Servo-Assisted benefits those who frequently use grenades — it increases throwing distance and improves limb durability.

Don’t overlook Fortified, which grants strong resistance to explosions and lowers recoil when firing from cover. Once considered one of the best passives, it has since been outshined by newer options.

Niche Passives

This category includes bonuses that only shine in very specific scenarios. Scout reduces enemy detection range and improves target tracking, but it’s mostly useful in solo or stealth gameplay.

Inflammable, Acclimated, and Advanced Filtration are highly situational, providing resistance to fire, gas, or acid. However, if enemies don’t use these damage types, the passives lose their value.

There’s also Electrical Conduit and Adreno-Defibrillator, which grant resistance to electricity or a chance at a “second life.” These can be life-saving in rare situations, but most players prefer more universally effective bonuses.

Armor passives in Helldivers 2 are not just minor details but an important tactical element. When choosing armor, you should think not only about its appearance or defense level but also about the passives it provides. If you want a universal option, go with Med-Kit or Siege Ready.
