The healing system in Where Winds Meet is a standalone mechanic tied to the Healer profession. It combines a mini-game, resource management, and progression of specialized abilities. The profession is useful not only to others but also to you personally, as it provides steady resources and unique rewards.

Basics of Healing

Before you begin treatment, you need to determine the type of illness. This is done using the Wind Sense ability. It reveals the nature of the problem and helps you choose the correct method. The game offers two main treatment options: Physiotherapy and Qi Therapy.

Both methods launch the healing mini-game if your mastery level isn’t high enough. When your Healer Mastery is sufficiently upgraded, you gain access to Quick Treatment, which allows you to heal the target instantly.

How the Healing Mini-Game Works

The mini-game consists of consecutive treatment rounds. You can complete up to ten rounds, and the total session is limited to twenty minutes. Your goal is to fully reduce the Affliction Severity bar without losing all of your Vital Energy.

In each round, you use Prescriptions — action cards that define your approach to healing. Some cards lower the illness’s defense, while others deal direct healing effects. Certain cards strengthen your own defense, which is crucial in the early rounds. There are also aggressive options that can quickly reduce Affliction Severity, but they consume part of your Vital Energy, so they must be used carefully.

The illness counterattacks almost every round, so it’s always wise to start by boosting your defense. Smart card combinations speed up the healing process and help you finish the treatment without risking failure.

You win when Affliction Severity reaches zero. If your Vital Energy runs out first, the treatment ends in failure.

Healing Rewards

The Healer profession provides reliable benefits. After a successful treatment, you receive resources needed for professional development and upgrading your prescription cards. The most valuable rewards include Career Notebook, Echo Jade, Memory, and other materials used to improve mastery. This makes the Healer one of the most beneficial professions for long-term progression.

Upgrading Healer Mastery

To increase your treatment efficiency, you need to develop your Healer Mastery. This is done using the Career Notebook or special Giftbox sets. As your mastery grows, you unlock new Prescription cards, gain additional tactical options, and eventually obtain the Quick Treatment feature. A high mastery level allows you to handle more complex illnesses and earn better rewards.
