The Grow a Garden Fairy Update introduced a brand-new feature involving Sam, the NPC who runs the Seed Shop. You can now increase your friendship with Sam by feeding him, and doing so unlocks four exclusive seed types. Since you can only feed him once every 24 hours, it’s important to choose your food wisely to maximize your progress.

However, many players are still unsure about how to actually feed Sam in the game. If you’re one of them, don’t worry—we’ve outlined everything you need to know in the guide below!

How to Feed NPC in Grow A Garden

To feed the Sam NPC, simply hold a piece of cooked food and offer it to him.

Cooked food was introduced in the Cooking Update. Previously, you could submit crops to Chris P, the cooking pot NPC during an event, to obtain meals. However, with that event no longer available, many players are now unsure how to get cooked food.

Luckily, there’s a straightforward solution—you can now get your own personal cooking pot by completing Achievements!

To unlock it, complete any of the following Achievement tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Mythical. Naturally, we recommend starting with the Common Achievements, as they are the easiest to finish.

Here’s how to find your Achievements:

1. Open your Inventory.
2. Search for the “Garden Guide”.
3. Click on it to open your Gardener Profile.
4. Navigate to the Achievements tab.

Common Achievements include simple tasks like shoveling 100 plants or gifting 1 Carrot, simple enough to quickly get your desired Cooking Kit.
