Grow A Garden isn’t just about tending to your crops. It’s also about using pets to boost your yields and profits. After the Animal Update, players can now purchase animal eggs, which hatch into random animals with abilities that you can place on your garden lot.

The rarest egg in the game is the Bug Egg, priced at 50 million Sheckles or 149 Robux. It's easy to recognize from afar due to its vibrant color and large, pincer-like claws.

Once you plant the egg on your garden lot, it takes 8 hours to hatch, unless you pay 49 Robux to speed up the process. Hatching a Bug Egg gives you one of five rare creatures, including four Mythical pets and one Divine pet.

Snail

• Rarity: Mythical
• Hatch Chance: 40%
• Hunger: 12,000
• Trait: Grants a 5% chance for a harvested plant to yield an extra seed. This effect stacks with multiple Snails.
• Pros: Increases the chance of earning rare seeds with more Snails.
• Cons: Low chance for additional seeds, plus, extra seeds are often low-rarity, not sellable, and can clutter your inventory.

Giant Ant

• Rarity: Mythical
• Hatch Chance: 30%
• Hunger: 18,000
• Trait 1: Provides a 10% chance to duplicate a harvested fruit. Rarer fruits have a lower chance of duplication.
• Trait 2: Offers a 5% chance to duplicate candy crops when harvested.
• Pros: Can duplicate high-value harvests, has two traits instead of one
• Cons: Second trait only applies if you have candy crops, which were part of a limited-time event

Caterpillar

• Rarity: Mythical
• Hatch Chance: 25%
• Hunger: 25,000
• Trait: Increases the growth rate of leafy plants (such as Corn, Grape, and Pepper) by 1.65x
• Pros: Speeds up the growth of specific crops
• Cons: Only affects a small selection of plants, mostly low-value

Praying Mantis

• Rarity: Mythical
• Hatch Chance: 4%
• Hunger: 55,000
• Trait: Every 80 seconds, the Mantis prays for 10 seconds, boosting the mutation chance of nearby crops (within 10 studs) by 1.5x. This includes already-planted crops.
• Pros: Increases the chance of valuable mutations, affects multiple crops within range
• Cons: Long cooldown, no guaranteed mutation

Dragonfly

• Rarity: Divine
• Hatch Chance: 1%
• Hunger: 100,000
• Trait: Every 5 minutes, transforms one random crop into a golden mutation that increases its value by 20x
• Pros: Guarantees a golden mutation, extremely high profit yield
• Cons: Long 5-minute cooldown between uses

Where to Buy the Bug Egg in Grow A Garden

You can purchase the Bug Egg at the Pet Eggs Shop, located at the edge of the map. However, it only has a 3% chance of being in stock, so you’ll need a bit of luck. The Pet Egg Store also refreshes every 30 minutes, which is slower than most other shops in the game.
