Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time - Complete Guide To Lives

In Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, there are different types of professions divided into three main categories: Combat Lives, Gathering Lives, and Crafting Lives. Each has its own features, weapons, and unique abilities.

Combat Lives

These professions focus on fighting, defeating monsters, and protecting Reverie:

  • Paladin – a tank with a shield and sword, specializing in melee combat. Can reduce damage with the shield and unlock counterattacks over time.
  • Mercenary – a powerful warrior wielding heavy weapons (greatswords), dealing high damage but slower than other classes.
  • Hunter – a master of ranged combat using a bow, capable of applying various arrow effects, with AoE skills and dodging abilities.
  • Magician – a specialist in magic attacks from a distance, gradually gaining defensive and healing spells.
  • Brand New – the starting life, using a staff. If you don’t get a license for a combat life, Brand New will be used automatically in battle.

Gathering Lives

Focused on collecting resources needed for crafting and trades:

  • Miner – extracts ore, precious stones, and metals using a pickaxe.
  • Woodcutter – cuts down trees, gathers wood and fruits using an axe.
  • Angler – catches fish in oceans, rivers, and ponds using a fishing rod.
  • Farmer – grows crops and tends fields, unlocked in the fourth chapter, using a hoe.

How to Start a Life

To start a new life, go to the Guild and choose your preferred class if it is unlocked. Then, talk to the Master of that life and complete a training quest that will introduce you to the basic mechanics and grant you a license, making you a Chick.

If you have a license for a particular life already, you can easily switch between them in the menu by selecting the “Life” option and choosing the one you want. To unlock a life that you don't already have a license for, speak to Aunt Ann at the Guild office in Eternia Village.

Tips for Choosing and Developing

Choose a life that best fits your playstyle. If you like ranged combat, pay attention to classes like Hunter or Magician that specialize in safe-distance attacks. If you prefer close combat and tanking, consider Paladin or Mercenary. Gathering lives help you accumulate necessary resources — ore, wood, fish, or crops — which are essential for crafting professions. They form the base for crafting and save you time and money. Crafting lives open up the ability to create unique items — weapons, armor, food, potions, furniture, and much more. Thanks to these professions, you can improve your efficiency in the game and gain additional advantages. Don’t forget that you can freely switch lives at any time in the game. This allows you to level up multiple professions simultaneously, making your gameplay more diverse and flexible.
