Dinosaur enthusiasts, buckle up! Roblox's Grow A Garden has released the Prehistoric Update, unleashing new fossil-like seeds, cosmetics, and new events, mostly centered around the popular prehistoric creature, dinosaurs. And that also means a brand new egg full of them!

The Dinosaur Egg offers one of six popular dinosaurs with unique abilities on each. It has a sandy-brown color, mimicking the fossil-like texture, with a dino skull picture in front. Once planted on your lot, it takes 4 hours and 16 minutes to hatch.

Here are all the pets in the Dinosaur Egg and their respective abilities.

All Dinosaur Egg Pets and Abilities 

Raptor 

• Legendary
• 35% chance
• 40,000 hunger
• Trait 1: 2% - 2.5% chance fruit gets Amber mutation after collecting. Rarer plants have a lesser chance to mutate.(+0.0475% mutation chance per level up.)
• Trait 2: Grants additional 14% - 14.5% increase to player movement speed. (+0.0475% player movement speed per level up.)
• Strength: A great pet to keep active as its skills upgrades per level. It can ease your movement around the map, which is especially helpful if your garden is far from key spots like the Gear Shop and the Event center.

Triceratops 

• Legendary
• 32.5% chance
• 40,000 hunger
• Trait: Every 3 minutes and 33 seconds, the Triceratops charges into 3 random plants and advances each of their growth stages by 33 minutes and 33 seconds. Each time this activates, there is a 15.18% chance for the ability to trigger again, stacking multiple times.
• Strength: Able to boost growth for slow-yield crops by a large margin and is the only pet that has a chance to repeat its ability.

Stegosaurus 

• Legendary
• 28% chance
• 40,000 hunger
• Trait 1: 8% chance to duplicate harvested fruit (Rarer crops have lower chance of being duplicated)
• Trait 2: 5% extra chance to duplicate harvested prehistoric type plant.
• Strength: Best pet to go for when you want to make the most out of your harvests, with even higher duplicate chances for prehistoric type plants such as the Bone Blossom

Pterodactyl 

• Legendary
• 3% chance
• 40,000 hunger
• Trait 1: Occasionally applies Windstruck mutation to multiple nearby fruits with a chance of replacing with Twisted!
• Trait 2: Grants additional 14.39% increase to player's jump height.
• Strength: A great pet to maximize mutations to crops, but its best trait is allowing a higher jump height, making it easier for  you to harvest taller plants

Brontosaurus 

• Mythical
• 1% chance
• 80,000 hunger
• Trait: Pets hatched from eggs have a 5.2% increase in base size and weight. This size bonus is capped at 30% per egg and does not apply to Brontosauruses. 
• Strength: An incredible pet to own for pet-size enthusiasts, allowing a guaranteed size increase for each egg hatched!

T-Rex

• Divine
• 0.5% chance
• 60,000 hunger
• Every ~20m eats a random mutation from a fruit in the player's garden then roars and applies that mutation to (~3) other fruits in the player's garden. Removes the mutation from the fruit that was eaten.
• Strength: A very valuable pet to have as it guarantees more mutations , allowing more profit over time!

How to Get the Dinosaur Egg

Complete Pre-Historic Quests

Unlike most eggs, the Dinosaur Egg cannot be purchased at the Pet Egg Shop. Instead, it can only be obtained by completing the Pre-Historic Quests or by trading pets with the Graham NPC.

To begin, head to the Pre-Historic Quest stand located at the center of the map. Interact with Blaire and select “Show me the quest.” You’ll receive three unique quests, which typically involve tasks like harvesting specific plants or crafting certain tools.

Each completed quest rewards you with random prehistoric-themed items, with one of the most common and desirable rewards being the Dinosaur Egg!

For example, as shown in the image below, completing a quest such as harvesting 25 apples can reward you with a Dinosaur Egg.

Quests reset every 12 hours, giving you the chance to complete new ones twice a day. If you keep up with them, you’ll have regular opportunities to earn Dinosaur Eggs!

Trade Pets with Graham

In addition to quests, you can also get dinosaur pets by trading pets with Graham, who is located in the center of the map near the Seed Shop.

To trade, hold up any pet from your inventory, interact with Graham, then choose “Take this Pet.” Graham will then spend one hour modifying its DNA and return a random dinosaur pet from the Dinosaur Egg pool. Don't forget to claim it at Graham's counter once the hour is up!
