When the game throws impossible challenges your way, the spark of a new invention burns, or you simply want a little extra excitement, RimWorld’s Development Mode opens the door to total creative freedom. This guide will show you how to turn it on and will then spotlight the console commands that can flip your colony from a peaceful garden to a riotous battleground or anywhere in between.
Before you can start altering the universe, you’ll need to activate Development Mode. Here's how:
Once enabled, you'll notice new buttons appear at the top of your screen. These are the gateways to your god-like powers, unlocking menus for spawning, altering, and destroying virtually anything in your RimWorld environment.
The Development Mode gives access to a massive debug menu, but below are some of the most useful and impactful console commands, organized by purpose. Some commands require you to click on objects or tiles on the map, while others open submenus.

Change weather... | Set the weather condition (rain, fog, clear, etc.) instantly. |
Clear All Fog | Reveals the entire map. Great for debugging or map exploration. |
Destroy All Plants / Destroy Clutter | Quickly clears areas for building or cleanup. |
T: Add Snow / Remove Snow / Clear All Snow | Adjust snowfall to taste. |
Generate Map / Destroy Map | Create new terrain or wipe existing ones. |
