In Stellar Blade, you can take on the "Like Butterflies" quest where players need to find and photograph ten hidden butterfly images scattered throughout the Wasteland area. Read on in our guide for how to do this and where to find all the butterfly locations in Stellar Blade.
The Like Butterflies quest unlocks after completing the "Photography Club" quest, which also grants access to the selfie mode. This quest does not require the Nier: Automata DLC — it is available on the bulletin board in the city of Xion.
Each butterfly is located in a specific, well-hidden spot, and to take a quality photo, you need to assume the exact right position.
To photograph the butterflies in Stellar Blade, you need to activate the selfie camera mode in the game, position Eve in the frame so that both she and the butterfly are visible in the background. If the photo is taken correctly, you will receive a mark next to the found butterfly indicating that the snapshot has been credited to you.
If for some reason the mark doesn't appear, try taking a different position or angle for the photo and repeat the process until you successfully capture the shot.
The first butterfly can be found in a broken cargo ship in the southwest of the Wasteland. Enter inside, turn left, and look up — the butterfly image can be seen on a ruined wall. To take the correct photo, stand on the blue crates opposite. If you choose the wrong angle, the shot won't be credited.
Head to the Solar Tower and enter inside. On the first floor, behind a computer with a "smiling" screen, you'll find the butterfly image. This is one of the easiest spots — just position the character correctly so the green indicator confirms the photo.
Don't stray far from the Solar Tower. On the backside of the structure, there's a large billboard. The butterfly is painted on its reverse. You might need to clear the area of enemies, and to get a good angle, climb the tower nearby. It's possible to take the photo from the ground, but it's more challenging.
Head north to the edge of the map. There, near a wooden crate and a turret trap, you'll find another butterfly. The image is placed on a green tarp covering a container. The spot is quiet and convenient for photography.
On the eastern side of the Wasteland, near the Central Scrap Plains Supply Camp, proceed to a ruined building near an old phone booth. The butterfly is depicted on the wall behind the debris. To take the photo, stand on a broken column nearby — the angle will be perfect.
Near the Holiday Café area, head to a large pile of scrap and metal plates. Go around the junkyard on the right side — one of the metal shields has a butterfly image behind barbed wire. The butterfly is partially hidden, so carefully choose the shooting angle.
Return to the Junkyard Supply Camp and find the path where you ran along walls during the game's storyline. Go through the section with three wall runs — the butterfly will be at the end of this route. Due to the clutter in this location, take your time and focus on precise framing.
From the fast travel point in the east, head a bit south to the Forbidden Zone. Don't descend all the way down — halfway, near the grates and metal fence, you'll find the butterfly image. A striped rope leading to this area hangs nearby. There's also an item close by, but your goal is to photograph the butterfly.
Visit the Central Scrap Plains Supply Camp again. Nearby is a billboard with the "DG" inscription. Go around the back — the butterfly will be printed on the reverse. This shot is one of the most interesting, so take your time and make the perfect photo.
The last butterfly can be found in the southeast of the Wasteland. Enter the flooded building near the fishing and bathing pond. On the left, climb the stairs, and at the top, you'll see a crate covered with a tarp. The final image is located on it. After this, your collection will be complete.
After photographing all ten butterflies in selfie mode, return to the bulletin board in Xion and complete the task. As a reward, you'll receive a stylish FourSeconds Black Denim outfit — a nice addition to Eve's wardrobe that highlights her elegant figure.
