All Bottle Locations In Zelda: The Wind Waker

There are four empty bottles in The Wind Waker. They are a very useful tool that allows you to store potions, fairies, water, fireflies, and other items. Here's where to find each bottle:

First Bottle

You can find it on Dragon Roost Island. After arriving there and meeting a girl named Medli, you help her reach a ledge by throwing her at the right moment in the direction of the wind. As a reward, she gives you the first bottle.

Second Bottle

Located in a submarine near Bomb Island. Find the submarine, defeat all the enemies inside, and you’ll get the bottle from a chest.

Third Bottle

Can be purchased from Beedle’s shop ship near Rock Spire Island. It costs 500 rupees.

Fourth Bottle

Earned on Windfall Island after progressing a bit in the story. At night, you need to secretly follow a girl named Mila, who is trying to rob a safe. If you do everything correctly and stop her in time, she will give you the last bottle.

What to Use Bottles For

These bottles allow you to store several types of contents. Below is a list of what can be stored in empty bottles and where to find it:

  • Red Potion fully restores health. It can be purchased or traded in shops, such as the Windfall potion shop or Beedle’s shop ship.
  • Green Potion restores magic energy. Sold at the potion shop on Windfall Island.
  • Blue Potion is especially useful, as it restores both health and magic. Available at the Windfall shop or in Forest Haven.

  • Elixir Soup, given by Link’s grandmother on Outset Island, comes in double servings. It not only restores full health and magic but also temporarily doubles Link’s attack power until he takes damage. You get it after healing your grandmother with a fairy in a bottle.
  • A Fairy will automatically revive Link if he dies, fully restoring health. You can catch fairies in bottles in Fairy Fountains or some dungeons.
  • A Forest Firefly is used to upgrade the Picto Box to the Deluxe Picto Box in the GameCube version of the game. If you bring it to Lenzo, you’ll receive a Joy Pendant. You can find it in Forest Haven, in shaded areas near the edges of the location.
  • Regular Water can be collected from any source and used to grow bomb flowers near the entrance to Dragon Roost Cavern.

  • Forest Water is a special type of water used to heal withering trees as part of a side quest involving the Koroks. It can be collected in Forest Haven. It retains its properties for only 20 minutes of real time, so this quest requires careful route planning.

Empty bottles are a real lifesaver during battles, dungeon exploration, and tough moments in the game. They provide healing, magic support, death prevention, and even a temporary attack boost. Using bottles effectively greatly simplifies the completion of The Wind Waker.
