Every year, as The International, the largest Dota 2 tournament, approaches, the community's attention is focused on the qualifiers  that determine the fate of teams from around the world. For many teams, it's a chance to not only enter the main Dota 2 arena but also change the course of their careers, while for others, it's a test to see if they can match the level of the world's best. In this article, we will talk about everything that happened at the ti qualifiers 2024.

How to qualify for The International?

All regional qualifications are divided into 6 regions such as:

• South America
• North America
• Eastern Europe
• Western Europe
• China
• South East Asia

In each region, the qualifications consist of two stages:

Open qualifiers - These are two consecutive qualifications with a Single-elimination format. From each of these two qualifiers, from 1 to 4 best teams get to the closed qualifiers, depending on the region.

Closed Qualifiers - The final stage of dota 2 TI qualifiers. The teams that have passed the open qualifiers are already waiting for other teams that were lucky enough to receive a direct invitation, the number of teams also depends on the region of the qualifiers. It is at this stage that it is decided who will go to The International.

Now let's talk about how the Dota 2 TI qualifiers 2024 were held in each of the regions.

South America

From the first open qualification to the closed stage, the following teams have made it through:

1. NoPing Esports (hFn, Sebas, Oscar, Demon, CHAAANNN)
2. Estar Backs (Wits, Alone, Ryu, Michael, Prada)
3. Infinity (Lumière, PiPi, Arkano, Genek, Gardick)
4. Fantasy Gaming (DCMC, Robo-Z, drakesh1t, Zxca, JimmyCoff666)

Four teams also passed the second qualification:

1. Cuyes Esports (Parker, SLATEM$, ILICH-, n1ght, Mjz)
2. Boom Esports (Pakazs, DarkMago, Sacred, Matthew, Yadomi)
3. Lava Esports (DaaD-, kxy, Adrian, pamplona, 555)
4. MAMUTEROS (Celulas, osito, Benjaz, D1smar, Panda)

Next in line was the time for the closed qualifiers Dota 2 TI. Unfortunately, none of the teams from the open qualifiers were able to overcome this stage. The teams that eventually went to The International 2024 from South America:

1. HEROIC (Davai Lama, 4nalog, K1, Scofield, KJ)
2. beastcoast (payk, Lumpy, Vitaly, Elmisho, MoOz)

North America

From the first open na TI qualifiers  to the closed stage, the following teams have made it through:

1. GRIN Esports (millky, Kitzz, Moo, Sneaky, pingu)
2. Apex Genesis (Sammyboy, W1sh-, Fayde, Bignum, Speeed)
3. 4 Amigos (Double King, RCY, monkeys-forever, Rozeanne, albinozebra1)

Unlike the first qualification, the second one had one less place. The teams that took the last tickets to the closed qualifiers:

1. The Hut (lanxiaohai, oldWhite, ClouD, bgod, door)
2. The Chapulines (ifrit, Zerag-, Satoshi-, Xcaret, Hiruko) 

The last obstacle between the teams and The International was the closed qualifiers, and here is the team that emerged victorious from this battle:

1. nouns (Yuma, Copy, Gunnar, Lelis, Fly)

Western Europe

Dota 2 WeU TI qualifiers has only on 2 slots on open stage (one for each qualification) were played out in the open qualifiers. Let's see who won the first qualification:

1. Team Bald (Gorgc, Mikey, SabeRLight-, Saksa, Nagato)

The team from the second open qualification went on to win the ticket:

1. Dandelions (Nande, Mo13ei, Palantimos, dEsire, Kidaro)

The time has come for the closed qualifiers, which brought together the best teams from across Western Europe. This region has witnessed some of the fiercest battles of all Dota 2 TI 13 region qualifiers. The main highlight was NAVI Junior, who showed a great performance for such a young team. After such great matches, we present to you the teams that will go to TI 13 from this region:

1. Entity (watson, No[o]ne-, Kataomi, Fishman, DM)
2. Tundra Esports (Pure, Topson, RAMZES666, 9Class, Whitemoon)

Eastern Europe

The first open qualifying round saw the following teams qualify:

1. Kalmychata (Retsu, nattynarwhal_, Proletariy, Danial, antoha)
2. DMS (shigetsu, mellojul, Daxak, Xakoda, kaori)

The last place to be played for the 2nd qualification was taken by the following team:

1. SIBE Team (selfhate, ryaf^^, zenica, sunset, sohy)

In the closed Dota 2 international qualifiers, only one slot was available for Copenhagen, just like in North America. The team that, after a fierce battle, won a ticket to Denmark:

1. 1win (Munkushi, CHIRA_JUNIOR, Cloud, swedenstrong, RESPEKT)

China

The next but no less important region to be discussed is China. In total, 6 slots were played out in the open qualifiers, 3 for each qualification. The following teams emerged from the first qualification:

1. KEV (Ulu, ButterflyEffect, 生死, Redpanda, Undyne_)
2. Old Warrior (flyfly, Setsu, old eLeVeN, Kaka, qyqx)
3. TEAM TURTLE (Chalice, Somnus, Yang, Planet, 皮球)

Three more teams that came through from the 2nd open qualification:

1. ToLight Team (圣子华炼, V, 七海 灯子, LordSoul, Azreal)
2. Team Bright (ukiyo, Small.Kk, 项羽, TK, imitator)
3. Underdog (Qi777, 好好, 诺, 惊魂chen, Pandaの灵)

Already in the closed qualifiers, these teams faced such mastadons of the Chinese region as LGD Gaming, Azure Ray, G2 x iG. There were 2 winners from China TI qualifiers Dota 2:

1. Team Zero (Erika, 7e, Beyond, ponlo, zzq)
2. G2 x iG (Monet, NothingToSay, JT-, BoBoKa, xNova)

South East Asia

The last thing we talk about SEA Dota 2 TI qualifiers. There were 4 slots in the open qualifiers. Teams that passed from 1 qualification:

1. Team Prism (423, Bob, seimei, Tsukimoto, Carlo)
2. Yangon Galacticos (Ksh, Young PH, Haw, Skill lay, ZawRain)

In turn, the following teams advanced from the second open qualification:

1. TNC Predator (Palos, Yowe, Kokz, Jing, Kuku)
2. IHC Esports (FortuneSoul, ikigai, 11, Ace12, knishka)

There was no sensation in the closed qualifiers. And the favourites of their region will go to The International 2024 in their entirety:

1. Talon Esports (Akashi, Mikoto, Ws, Jhocam, ponyo)
2. Aurora (23, lorenof, Jabz, Q, Oli)
