A significant bug related to the neutral item Safety Bubble has been discovered in the Dota 2 community. It allows Lone Druid and Meepo to infinitely refresh their shield, which greatly affects game balance.
How the Bug Works
The mechanics of the bug are quite simple:
- Acquire a Safety Bubble from a stack of neutrals.
- Transfer any item in the inventory or drop it on the ground.
- The shield from the Safety Bubble refreshes instantly.
😨 New bug with Lone Druid and Meepo

They can exploit the Safety Bubble shield:
1. Kill the neutral creep with Safety Bubble
2. Move or drop an item in your inventory
3. The shield resets and reactivates pic.twitter.com/YiZnHnJUyT
This combination enables Lone Druid to use the bear for tanking, creating a significant advantage.
For Meepo, the situation is even more interesting. To make the bug work on clones, you need to activate the Pack Rat aspect, which increases the number of slots for neutral items on all heroes. This way, the shield works on all Meepo at once, making them virtually invincible in battle.
This is yet another example of how mechanics in Dota 2 can have unexpected consequences. Players hope that Valve will promptly address this issue to maintain the fairness of matches.
