Patches in Dota 2 have always been a double-edged sword for the community. With every update, Valve tries to balance the game, but more often than not, it leads to extensive discussions among players.
The latest patches are no exception. That’s why we took a look at the hottest Dota 2 patch Reddit threads over the past month regarding Dota 2 recent updates and selected the most interesting discussions for you.
Dota 2 — Patch 7.37c
Apparently, before the upcoming TI13, Valve decided to nerf everything related to healing. This hasn’t gone unnoticed, and players on Dota 2 new patch Reddit are already talking about how many hero abilities and items have received direct and indirect nerfs aimed at suppressing the healing meta.
It seems this was done to ensure the International is more dynamic, so viewers wouldn’t get bored watching passive gameplay.

These nerfs have already sparked more jokes on Dota patch Reddit about Valve’s treatment of certain heroes, especially Abaddon, who has been suffering from patch to patch, and Omniknight.
One user joked that his favorite hero had been "killed," referring to how Omniknight was made a decent support for the first time in years, only to be nerfed again after three weeks.

A user named Odd_Lie_5397 also joked about this topic, noting that Hoodwink has been quite popular for the past 1.5 years (ranked 24th on Dotabuff, though with a win rate below 50%), yet she only received minor ability nerfs.
Meanwhile, Valve decided to nerf almost all of Omniknight’s abilities, causing his win rate to drop to 51%, down from 54-55% recently.

New bugs in Dota 2
Another hot topic on Reddit involved new and intriguing bugs in the game following the release of the hero Ringmaster. In one case, a player’s Wraith King dealt 250% critical damage from Mortal Strike instead of the intended 150%.
After testing with other heroes, it was discovered that all heroes with crits or items providing crit effects gained an additional 100% damage to their critical hits.

Along with this bug, there was another involving Storm Spirit. The hero was either spending 40% less mana or none at all when using his abilities.
As a result, players began abusing him, and between August 22 and 23, his win rate surged from 50% to 58%. However, after Valve fixed the bugs, Storm Spirit’s win rate dropped back to 49%.

Endless Hand of Midas
But the bug saga didn’t end there. Players discovered another bug related to Hand of Midas, allowing its cooldown to be abused.
After Valve fixed one bug, another appeared, allowing Techies to endlessly use the item by transferring it between his backpack and inventory. This discussion quickly became one of the top threads on Dota 2 patch notes Reddit.

One player, frustrated by yet another bug, wrote that he thought he could finally play Dota 2, but now it seems he’ll have to return to playing Wukong (Black Myth: Wukong).
In response, another Reddit user joked that Wukong wasn’t the best counter pick in this situation, referring to the fact that Wukong is the Monkey King, a clever pun.

Complaints about Ember Spirit
A Reddit user also posted about how his favorite hero, Ember Spirit, has suffered from recent patch changes. He wasn’t complaining about hero balance, stating he wouldn’t mind if Valve reduced his damage or ability power, but rather that Ember Spirit had become uninteresting and clunky. Once an agile hero, Ember now feels sluggish.

The post received mixed reactions from the Dota 2 community. Some agreed with the author, especially those who main Ember Spirit or returned to the hero after a long time and feel the awkwardness of his ability timing changes. In Dota 2 next patch Reddit users want to believe that their favorite hero won’t be killed absolutely.

Others pointed out that changes to hero playstyles are nothing new, citing examples like Tinker and Techies, whose abilities underwent drastic changes, but players still adapted and found ways to make them work in the new format.

However, only some agree that changing beloved hero concepts is a good practice, as it can lead to the hero losing popularity, making it difficult to revive them even with future buffs.
Now, players are waiting for the new Dota patch release date to discuss more interesting changes in the game on Reddit.
