Which CS2 talents might join Monte to actually reinforce it – but only from Ukraine!

This week, the Ukrainian organization Monte announced that their academy players, who previously replaced Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev and Alexander "br0" Bro, have been returned to the academy. As a result, there are now two open slots in the main team for future stars.

To assist the organizers in finding new players, we decided to compile a top-5 list of the best Ukrainian players who would fit well with the team, both in terms of roles and skill level.

But first, let's refresh our memory and review the current Monte team lineup and player roles:

  • Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletnjuk (captain + sniper)
  • Serghij "DemQQ" Demchenko (support)
  • Szymon "kRaSnaL" Mrozek (playmaker)

Based on this list, Monte doesn't need to look for a sniper, which eliminates the candidacy of Daniil "headtr1ck" Valitov and other snipers. However, we can consider the following players for other roles.

Vladyslav "Kvem" Korolj

22-year-old rifler Vladyslav "Kvem" Korolj, who is currently on the bench at IKLA, would likely want to join such a strong tier-1 organization. But what can he offer the team?

Being on the professional scene since late 2022, he has already won more than five different tier-3/2 championships. His statistical performance over the last 12 months only confirms his skill:

However, there are a few important points to note. Since February 2024, the player has been on the bench and rarely participates in qualifiers or official matches.

Analyzing his FACEIT profile, it is clear that he continues to play Counter-Strike actively, with his current ELO rating at 3963, placing him in the top 32 globally.

Monte sometimes lacks a player who will run and eliminate everything in his path, and with such metrics, Kvem is a perfect fit for Monte.

Boghdan "kr1vda" Kryvda

Next on the list is Boghdan "kr1vda" Kryvda, who was once the best player on his team during major qualifiers, but then started drifting from team to team. He is currently playing for L&G, but without notable results.

His statistics over the last 12 months are as follows:

As a support player, he performs well at his level. However, his recent achievements were victories in tier-3 championships.

It is worth mentioning that in terms of mechanical and macro play, kr1vda always stood out from his teammates, allowing him to rank first in TAB almost every game. But for playing in Monte, mechanical skills alone are not enough; experience is also needed, which Boghdan lacks at the tier-1 level.

Nevertheless, after a few months of playing, he would likely fit into the team perfectly with an 80% probability.

Rodyon "fear" Smyk

Rodyon "fear" Smyk, a highly experienced captain from Passion UA, once led the NAVI Junior team to incredible heights. Notable players like headtr1ck, m0NESY, and others came through him.

Several times he tried to assemble his own team capable of winning prestigious tier-2 championships, but after failing at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European Open Qualifier, the team completely disbanded. Despite this, he has great potential as a captain.

With Passion UA, he has yet to achieve significant results, and his statistics over the last 12 months are as follows:

You might say that the team already has a captain, Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletnjuk. However, it might be better for Woro2k to focus on playing with the AWP, while fear takes the captain position. In the long run, such a reshuffle would be highly beneficial.

Andrij "npl" Kukharsjkyj

Former NAVI player Andrij "npl" Kukharsjkyj, currently on loan at B8, is performing excellently with his new team. His latest achievement was winning the CCT Season 2 European Series #2.

Doesn’t this remind you of Monte’s path, who in 2023 almost never missed CCT tournaments? But let's stay focused. His statistics over the last 12 months are as follows:

There's no need to mention his game experience; it is vast, especially for his 18 years. So, if B8 Esports were to release him to Monte, it would be a great acquisition.

Aleksei "alex666" Yarmoshchuk

Rounding off our list is probably the most underrated Ukrainian player, Aleksei "alex666" Yarmoshchuk. With B8 Esports, he won the CCT Season 2 European Series #2 and placed 3-4 at the RES European Series #2.

His career as a player began in 2020, which makes him a very experienced player at his level. Currently, he continues to train daily and compete in various tournaments with his team, including ESEA Advanced, which the team recently qualified for.

His statistics over the last 12 months are as follows:

Martin "STYKO" Styk

On May 14, 2024, it was announced that Martin "STYKO" Styk became the newest player for Team Monte. For the Ukrainian organization, STYKO is the perfect choice, as he is a very experienced and knowledgeable rifler.

He even played in the quarterfinals of a Major with APEKS, so there's no need to question his experience – he has it. Moreover, don’t forget that his professional career began back in 2011.

And his statistics over the last 12 months are as follows:

Conclusion

According to former Monte player Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev, we will soon find out who the Ukrainian organization has signed, but in the meantime, you can share your lineup suggestions in the comments. Let's await the official announcement together!
