With the arrival of Technocyte Coda Liches, Warframe has introduced a grotesque and thrilling new challenge and a collection of powerful Infested weapons as your reward. These Coda weapons are remixed and upgraded versions of existing Infested gear, each featuring unique mechanics and significantly improved stats. While not always on par with Incarnon weapons, the Coda arsenal holds some surprisingly potent tools that deserve your attention, especially if you're pushing into Steel Path or simply looking for something new and twisted to play with. In this tier list, we rank all Coda weapons from best to worst, focusing on their performance in high-end content like Steel Path (level 300+), Archimedea challenges, and endgame farming.
Each Coda weapon has its own mechanics, stats, and build potential. To create this tier list, we evaluated their performance in high-level content, focusing on how they scale with mods, arcanes, and Warframe synergies. Weapons that can handle large crowds, deal consistent damage to Eximus units, or offer unique utility are ranked higher. We also considered ease of use, ammo economy, and how well they fit into modern meta builds. While every weapon can shine with the right loadout, this list highlights those that stand out in practical, real-world gameplay scenarios.
Why it's great: A Viral glaive with innate maggot spawns on hit and devastating explosion synergy. Standout feature: When combined with an Electric progenitor, it procs Melee Influence with ease. Better than Glaive Prime in most scenarios.
Why it's great: Fires massive blasts with Radiation and Blast, with an alt-fire that debuffs enemies with Magnetic. Build potential: Synergizes beautifully with Galvanized Savvy and Gun CO, offering insane scaling against armor and shield types alike.
Why it's great: Incredible crit stats, high fire rate, and massive single-target damage with multishot and punch-through builds. Elevated to S-tier: Unlike many beam weapons, Synapse scales well into endgame with proper modding, consistently melts bosses and elite Eximus units.
Why it’s here: Slam attacks inflict guaranteed Toxin status. A devastating weapon when built around slam radius and melee buffs. Why it's not S-tier anymore: More niche in application, slam-focused playstyle doesn’t scale as reliably in tight, fast-paced missions.
Why it’s great: Reloading launches high-damage projectiles. With Critical Mutation and Synth Charge, it becomes a miniature nuke launcher. Great for: AoE clearing, status priming, and meme-worthy grenade spam.
Why it’s great: Delayed explosions make it an AoE sniper with high raw damage potential. Needs augment: Only reaches full power with the Volatile Variant mod.
Why it’s great: Heavy attacks launch sludge pools that deal Corrosive and open enemies to finishers. Crowd control focused: Great synergy with Condition Overload and finishers, though its scythe stance can feel clunky.
What it does: Fires Corrosive projectiles that explode after a delay. Great single-target damage with Galvanized Shot. Solid but lacks AoE: Good for bosses or tanky enemies but slower in mob-clearing situations.
Unique effect: Scales damage the more Cold procs a target has up to a 50% bonus. Build tip: Combine with Secondary Shiver for great synergy and status ramp.
Core mechanic: IPS mods grant massive bonuses (Impact = +40% speed, Slash = 100% status chance, etc.). Build-dependent: Can dish out huge damage if modded well, but not quite top-tier for most players.
Life steal on crit: Converts crit damage into healing, great survivability tool in melee builds. Still viable: Great backup weapon for tanky Warframes or melee-focused playstyles.
What it does: Creates lingering gas clouds. Good status spreading tool. Why it's C-tier: Powercrept by better primers like Cedo, Zakti, or any beam secondary with high status.
Gimmick: Life steals on headshots, but reloading drains health. Main issue: Very low damage for an MR17 weapon. Not competitive at the levels it’s unlocked.
If you enjoy Infested aesthetics or want weapons that feel unique and weirdly effective. While Incarnons and Kuva/Tenet weapons often steal the spotlight, Coda weapons are more than capable of holding their own with the right builds and mods. Whether you're looking to dominate Steel Path with the Pathocyst, delete rooms with the Catabolyst, or just experiment with the Motovore's IPS mechanics, there's something here for nearly every playstyle.
