Split Fiction: Honest Review

If there’s one thing that Split Fiction does perfectly, it’s delivering an unrelenting, mind-blowing ride of absolute joy. From the first moment to the last, this game never slows down, constantly throwing players into one crazy scenario after another. Every single second in Split Fiction is an explosion of creativity, fun, and sheer excitement. Whether you're flying through space as a cyber ninja, solving puzzles in a fantasy kingdom, or escaping a haunted sci-fi prison, the game keeps you on your toes with one fresh idea after another.

The Fun Never Stops

I could never imagine that co-op games can be that fun and insane. The sheer variety in gameplay is beyond belief, making every chapter feel like a brand-new game. But if there’s one moment that absolutely floored me, it was that mission. You know the one. The mission where you play as pigs on an adventure, only to later be turned into sausages. I have never laughed this hard in a game before. The absurdity, the wild objectives, and the sheer ridiculousness of every task had me in tears. From mud bathing to becoming part of a hot dog, every second of that level was golden. It’s the kind of experience you’ll be talking about with friends for years.

A World of References and Nostalgia

Split Fiction is not just an exquisite game, it’s a homage to storytelling. The world you explore is packed with references to classic tales, pop culture, and games. One second you’re hay vaulting like an Assassin’s creed character and next, you’re in Donkey Kong dodging barrels. The game gives you allusions to fairy tales too when you assume the role of pigs in one of the missions. These references are well done and not mere shallow gameplay nods, they are crafted into the gameplay, making every reference feel natural. It is a flawless blend of old and new.

The Ultimate Co-op Experience

This is a game that thrives when played with a friend, and Hazelight has made sure that everyone can join in on the fun. Thanks to the Friend Pass system, only one person needs to own the game for two players to experience the adventure together. No less than remarkable is the opportunity within the game that now enables you to partner up with a friend irrespective of their platform. Be it online or locally, the split-screen feature will always ensure that you are both synced and go as far as elevating the sense of immersion and collaboration.

A Minor Flaw in an Otherwise Perfect Game

Like many other things, it too has some downsides and that’s just the game difficulty, or lack of it. The Split Fiction team made the game to be easy and convenient, which is amazing for the casual audience. Those looking for an actual challenge though, might be disappointed at how easily they can skip parts of the game. A more intricate approach towards these puzzles and combat would have made the game and the experience better. And yet still, with how stellar this game is, it is hard to complain about it too much.

Final Verdict

Split Fiction is an absolute must-play.It’s a game that astounds and entertains, offering one of the most enjoyable co-op experiences I’ve ever had. Its grade should be a perfect 10, but it’s a bit on the easier side. However, does that even matter? If you enjoy co-op stories or are just looking for something fun, do yourself a favor and try this game. You won’t regret it.
