How to Have the Best Start in Persona 5: The Phantom X

Persona 5: The Phantom X (P5X) is a JRPG featuring the original Persona 5 remade as gacha events in real-time and daily missions. For you to make a good start and avoid wastage of precious resources, consider the following important tips:

Don’t Rush Through Palaces

Unlike the classic Persona 5, Phantom X doesn’t have strict time limits for completing Palaces. You can explore them at your own pace, focusing on team development and resource collection. Even if you miss something, you can return to the Palace later. This helps reduce stress and lets you fully experience the gameplay.

Participate in the “Take Your Heart” Event

At launch, do not miss the limited-time “Take Your Heart” event. It has a series of events lasting 30 days, special missions, and the occasion to cross paths with original Persona 5 classic characters. You get to meet Phantom Thief members such as Joker, Ann, and Ryuji in the place you hold so close - Café Leblanc.

Choose the Right Starter Character

After 50 pulls on the beginner banner, you’ll be able to choose one of three 5-star characters: Panther (Ann), Skull (Ryuji), or Mona (Morgana). Panther is highly recommended because of her strong fire-based AoE attacks, which are very effective in clearing early Palaces quickly.

Develop Social Bonds

The social system is just as important as combat. Strengthening bonds with key characters unlocks new abilities, passive and active combat bonuses, and improves overall effectiveness. Higher bond levels make allies stronger and unlock additional content like personal scenes, joint missions, and story dialogues. Additionally, once trust reaches a certain level, you can start romantic relationships with some characters.

Farm Resources in the Realm of Repression

This is one of the best places to spend stamina. You can earn materials to upgrade weapons, Arcana cards, Persona seals, and other enhancement items. Early on, it’s particularly useful for upgrading your main weapon and collecting materials to craft new Personas.

Upgrade Weapons and Arcana Cards

Weapons can be enhanced through the Overclock system using materials obtained in the Realm of Repression. Arcana cards provide additional character bonuses and can also be upgraded. Choose them based on role: attack for DPS, endurance for tanks, healing for supports.

Complete Daily and Weekly Tasks

These are the main sources of resources, gacha currency, and experience. Simple actions like winning battles, completing stages, or interacting with characters grant rewards. Don’t forget about Velvet Trials special challenges that yield valuable materials.
