Deadlock online peak reached almost 100,000 players

On August 28th, Valve's hybrid MOBA shooter called Deadlock, currently in closed testing, reached a peak online player count of 98,535.

Just a week after the official announcement, interest in the Deadlock project began to surge. Currently, the project ranks 28th on Steam's list of the most wishlisted games.

Despite the fact that the game hasn't been released yet and is still in the early stages of development, Deadlock is gaining popularity among players, thanks to the closed but widely available testing phase.

Previously, gamers responded to Deadlock with skepticism and mockery. However, now many are trying to get an invitation to check out Valve's new project themselves.

Deadlock is a multiplayer team-based third-person shooter in a 6v6 format, with four lanes where players compete against each other. The game conceptually resembles a mix of titles like Dota 2, SMITE, and Overwatch.

Valve has not yet announced an official release date for the game. Judging by the technical state of the game, this is not likely to happen soon. However, the rising interest in the game could indicate another success for the studio.
