Counter Strike 2 offers a vast selection of weapons and an even greater variety of skins for each pistol or rifle. However, not every firearm receives as much love as the AK-47 or AWP. Many are underrated, and quite undeservedly so.

Dual Berettas
Since the Dual Berettas' price dropped to $300 in 2021, this pistol has become a decent choice in the first rounds of each half. A large magazine, high rate of fire, and the ability to buy defuse kits are some reasons why some players opt for it. They perform best at close ranges during bomb site defences and rushes. Keep in mind that the Dual Berettas have a long reload time of 3.77 seconds, so find a safe spot to reload if necessary.
In our underrated CS2 weapons analysis, we do not recommend engaging in long-distance fights with the Dual Berettas – the spread of fire and damage drop-off at a distance will make you an easy target in pistol rounds. They also should not be purchased in eco-rounds – their damage is too low against armoured enemies, making it wiser to buy a Tec-9, Five-Seven, or Desert Eagle.
MP7
The MP7 is one of of the most unpopular guns in CS2 among SMGs. Many might prefer the MP9, MAC-10, or even P90, but what about stepping out of your comfort zone?
The MP7 has good accuracy while moving, which is very useful for rushes, and its spray pattern is quite controllable. Like many other SMGs, they are best used at medium-close distances, and at longer distances, either tap shoot or switch to a Desert Eagle.
MAG-7
The MAG-7 might be the strangest-looking firearm in the game and our CS2’s underrated weapons guide, resembling a piece of lumber. However, this shotgun is more dangerous than it seems. It can single-handedly stop an enemy team's entry into a site. But it must be used appropriately.
For maximum efficiency with the MAG-7, position yourself where you can encounter enemies one by one at relatively close distances. For example, Sandbags on Inferno or Balcony on B Apartments. Aim for the upper torso, as the pellets will fly slightly above the crosshair.
Also, the $900 reward per frag will be a nice bonus on anti-eco rounds, allowing for a richer buy and more utility.
Negev
The cheap Negev machine gun, priced at $1700, often deters players due to its limited practicality. Its downsides include unsatisfactory mobility, a difficult spray pattern, and vulnerability when used in obvious positions.
Nevertheless, the Negev can be used for suppression fire as CT. If you anticipate a terrorist rush or understand their late-round timings, you can block a passage with a smoke screen and spam through it, keeping the spray at the torso and head level. This way, you might not kill multiple enemies instantly but can inflict significant damage. Try this machine gun near Monster on Overpass or at the exit from Upper B on Dust 2 after throwing a smoke grenade.
SCAR-20/G3SG1
These sniper rifles in Counter-Strike are not revered among players – many consider the SCAR-20 and G3SG1 to be "noob" weapons because they do not require rechambering after each shot. However, this feature comes at a price, as both rifles do not kill armoured enemies with a single torso shot, giving the opponent a chance to neutralize you.
SCAR-20 and G3SG1 can be used similarly to the Negev, as well as for spamming through certain surfaces from a distance. If you have a lot of money, especially in the last round of a half, you can buy an automatic rifle in addition to these sniper rifles and slowly transfer both weapons to the necessary part of the map. This way, you'll have an alternative option at hand.
