Wonderkids are best classified as rising stars in Football Manager 2024. They are potential talents in Football Manager 2024 who, while not guaranteed to become world-beaters, can become some of the best players in the game.
Although the existence of dynamic potential in Football Manager 2024 can be a limiting factor to the growth of these top youth talents in FM24, the right training and exposure to match experience can still make them very strong.
Understanding dynamic potential in Football Manager 2024
Dynamic potential in Football Manager 2024 is a mechanic integrated into the game in order to give a sense of randomness across multiple save files.
In previous Football Manager games, the potential ability (PA) of the top-rated youth players in Football Manager was locked to a value between 0 and 200. With dynamic potential, the PA of these players can exist within ranges that are randomised upon the start of a game.
The ranges are as follows:
- 10 (170-200)
- 95 (160-190)
- 9 (150-180)
- 85 (140-170)
- 8 (130-160)
- 75 (120-150)
- 7 (110-140)
This continues all the way down to -1 in the same fashion. Because of this dynamic potential, some of these young talents in Football Manager 2024 aren’t guaranteed to be elite in every save file, so make sure you scout players before buying and keep a tracker on wonderkids in your Football Manager 2024 game
Destiny Udogie
Destiny Udogie only moved to the Premier League this season and it has quickly become clear why he is one of the top-rated Left Back wonderkids in Football Manager 2024.
Udogie starts the game with a current ability (CA) of 146 and a PA of 173, so it is very easy to see why he is valued at £54-£66m at the start of the game. Not only that, but he also plays in the Premier League, which always results in higher valuations.
Udogie is one of the best attacking Left Backs in Football Manager 2024, with his 15 Off The Ball, 14 Crossing, and 13 Dribbling making him a dangerous prospect going forward. This doesn’t mean he is a slouch defensively either, with 13 in Positioning, Marking, and Tackling.
Valentin Barco
The second player on our list of the best wonderkid Left Backs in Football Manager 2024 is Brighton’s Valentin Barco.
Sadly, due to him recently moving to Brighton, you won’t be able to sign him at the start of your save. To make matters worse, you also won’t be able to sign him as cheaply as you used to, as he is now valued between £21-£26m and not at the £8m release clause he had while still at Boca Juniors.
Like Udogie, Barco is an exceptional attacking player, reflected in his 15 Dribbling and 14 Crossing. For that reason, Barco is a perfect player for a system that aims to use three Centre-Backs.
Alejandro Balde
Continuing our trend of looking at attacking Left Backs in our list of the top Left Back youth talents in FM24 is Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde.
Balde, the successor to Jordi Alba, is the most attacking of all the Left Backs we have looked at so far, and his defensive game is potentially a weakness thanks to his 11 Positioning and Marking.
However, what Balde lacks in defensive quality, he makes up in physical excellence. His 17 in both Pace and Acceleration combined with his 14 Work Rate means that he’ll be up and down the pitch all game and is easily capable of recovering when caught out.
Amar Dedic
One of the best bargain wonderkid Left Backs you’ll find in Football Manager 2024 is RB Salzburg’s Amar Dedic. Rb Salzburg has been a great team for wonderkid finds in the last few years, and that is no different in FM24.
Unlike the previous three Left Backs in our Football Manager 2024 Left Back wonderkids guide, Amar Dedic is a far more balanced player who is equally suited to defending and attacking.
Valued between £12.5-£14.5m at the start of your game, Dedic is ready to go straight into your starting eleven, and with a PA of 157, he can grow to become one of the best Left Backs in the world.
Matteo Rugeri
To continue our list of the top-rated Left Back wonderkids in Football Manager 2024, we’ll look at Atalanta’s Matteo Ruggeri.
Another attacking option, Ruggeri lacks slightly with his 10 Dribbling, but his 16 Crossing is exceptional and perfect for getting lots of assists over the course of a season.
Atlanta is a perfect place to find Football Manager 2024 rising stars, and Ruggeri is no different. However, Atlanta players can come at a cost, and you should expect to pay between £19-£29m for his services.
Milos Kerkez
Completing our list of the best Left Back young players in FM24 is Bournemouth’s Hungarian Left Back, Milos Kerkez.
Kerkez, who was signed by Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in the Summer, won’t leave instantly as a result of that move, and can also be very costly if you try to sign him later on in the game. Valued at £26-£32m at the start of a save, that value can double when he is actually ready to leave.
This isn’t to say Kerkez isn’t worth it though, his PA range of 140-170 is exceptional and he can be a key player for Champions League calibre teams.
