Anyone Can Win the Shanghai Major — AMA Session Recap with headtr1ck

We successfully held the first-ever AMA session in Bo3.gg’s history! Fans had a unique opportunity to ask any questions to B8 Esports sniper Danyyl “headtr1ck” Valitov about CS2. In this article, we’ve compiled the best answers from the Ukrainian esports player and recapped the event.

How do you rate the updates in CS2?

I like it, i think something new improves the game and makes it more entertaining.

What are your favorite and least favorite maps in CS?

Favourite — Mirage, Dust2, Inferno. Least favourite — ancient, anubis, vertigo.

Which maps do you consider the most and least balanced in CS2?

The most balanced are Dust2 and Mirage, Least balanced — Anubis, Ancient.

Do you want Train to be reintroduced?

Yes, i like train and i think it would fit current metaBack in the days with Navi Junior, it was one of my favourite maps. One of the greatest maps ever.

Which map would you remove from the map pool?

Easy, Vertigo.

What do you think about Valve’s team ranking?

I think its good for some teams that showed good this year, but for other teams that were struggling its not that good, but overall, in my opinion its nice, so that teams that deserves invites will get it.

How much did you earn in NAVI Junior?

First salaries were less than $400.

Which pro players in CS have influenced you the most?

s1mple and Guardian back in the days.

What moment in your career do you consider the most important?

I think qualifying to Paris Major, as it gave me a lot of confidence.

What went wrong in Ninjas in Pyjamas? Was it a language barrier or a deeper management issue?

To communicate it was fine, but overall it was so many question marks in terms of players and our goals as a team and club, and sometimes people didn't fit each other.

Do you still have friends among NiP players?

I have good relationship with some players, with some i don`t speak often, but i wouldn`t say i was carrying, when we had good times it was team that was doing well, i was just doing my part.

Tell us a funny story from NiP.

When we had connecting flight in Vienna, we had separate seats so when i was coming out from the plane, i was just following the people and they were coming to exit and not to transfer flights, so i followed them, and when i realised i was on the wrong direction, i tried to go back, but the police spotted me and started screaming, so i went to control and had to begin all over again ;)

Name the three best Ukrainian snipers, besides yourself.

s1mple, w0nderful and jambo.

What do you think about s1mple’s comeback? Can he regain his former form?

I`m happy that he returned and i do think he is capable of showing his peak form again, the thing with Falcons is they might do changes after the major, so his main goal right now is to bring back his form, and on his first officials he showed really promising start, so he is definitely capable of regaining that form.

Who is the most underrated player in CS right now?

I think xertioN.

You’re having the best period of your career with B8. Why are things going better here than with NiP?

I think the people fit each other, and we always have big desire to improve, the improvement and hard work are key details in my opinion. I`ve gained a lot more confidence here, and overall feeling better ;)

Why do so many teams struggle at the RMR?

Because of the high pressure, and Bo1 matches.

What do you think about your group at the RMR?

It will be interesting, everyone can beat everyone , both groups are not easy.

Which team has the best chance of winning the Shanghai Major?

Hard to say rn but overall NaVi and Vitality showed good game all over the season, right now G2 is doing good as well, but i think it even might be a winner not from this big 3 teams.

Have you ever thought about switching to Valorant?

No, played it once, and i like CS way more.

Advice for young players dreaming of an esports career.

Trust yourself and always improve your own individual skill, that try to play many faceit matches, at some point you will play against pro player, and if you destroy him, you will feel confidence and people will start to recognize you, so its like ladder, step by step.

To sum up the AMA session, it was a great success. Danyyl was pleased, and the fans got answers to all their burning questions. This feature will become a regular one on Bo3.gg, so don’t miss the next event!
