Arcane Season 2 is finally here with Riot releasing the first act, comprising of three episodes, onto the streaming platform Netflix. Arcane follows the lives of many League of Legends champions and how they are portrayed on the big screen. But which champions from League of Legends is in Arcane Season 2 act 1? Let's take a look.
Jinx
There's no better place to start than the most complex character in the show, Jinx. Jinx has had her fate sealed after blowing up the council building, killing multiple members in the process, including Caitlyn's mother. This has put a target on her back, even in the gritty underworld. Jinx is wanted topside for the crimes she committed in Piltover. Not only is she wanted topside, but the criminals of the underworld want to send her packing so that the enforcers finally leave them alone. On top of that, she is struggling to deal with the fractured relationship she has with her sister, Vi.
Vi
Vi is another character struggling to deal with the fact her sister isn't the same person anymore, especially after the finale in season 1, which pushed her over the edge. Begrudgingly, Vi has become a member of Caitlyn's new enforcer group, the same people who did terrible things to her parents. Vi's mission in the first act is to go after her sister. She wants to do it alone, but she recognizes that is no longer an option. Act 1 of Season 2 also further explores the relationship between Caitlyn and Vi, as the pair share a romantic moment later in the act.
Caitlyn
We are starting to see several sides to Caitlyn in Arcane Season 2. At first, she struggles to deal with the death of her mother, but by the end of the act, she's taking her place at the head of the table, spearheaded by Ambessa Merdada. Caitlyn is hellbent on taking down Jinx, whether by bringing her in or killing her for the crimes she has committed. We see the conflict within by the end of the act, Caitlyn had the shot at Jinx but was stopped by Vi due to the risk of potentially killing Jinx's new child ally. Caitlyn likely knows it was the correct thing to do, but not before hitting Vi in the gut and abandoning her.
Jayce
Jayce in Season 2 of Arcane is dealing with the consequences of weaponizing Hextech. This however was the only reason his best friend Viktor was able to stay alive, by absorbing the Hexcore. While Viktor was healing, Jayce went ahead with the very plan he and Viktor agreed not to do, make Hextech weapons. Jayce provided the new enforcers with Hextech Rifles, Gauntlets, and more. With the enforcers down in the undercity, Jayce's attention was then turned towards Heimerdinger and Ekko, who were looking for reasons why Ekko's homeworld tree started turning a different color, almost like an infection.
Heimerdinger and Ekko
The two have been paired together for this segment due to the pair being together for almost all of the first act. After being exiled from the council, Heimerdinger found himself teaming up with Ekko. The pair are investigating what is going to be an important part of the Arcane Season 2 storyline moving forward. The pair broke into the Heimerdingers old building, where Jayce now resides, to see if he can help them solve their problem. The trio discovers a phenomenon known as a 'wild rune', which is the result of meddling too much with Hextech. This was amplified during the Jinx and Vi scene, which sent Jayce, Heimerdinger, and Ekko on a weird journey.
Viktor
Viktor has one of the more interesting character arcs going on right now. He was badly damaged by Jinx's attack and was only able to come back to life thanks to Jayce and the Hexcore. When he came back, he realized he was more machine than man and left his friend to go out on his own. As he returned to his homeworld, he was followed by a group of infected Zaunites who were trying to rob him. During this standoff, Viktor discovers his new form has given him powers, one of them being the ability to heal the bodies of the Zaunites, who have now become devoted followers to him.
