Agents were introduced in the game CS on November 18, 2019. As of today, there are 29 agents available for the defense side or counter-terrorists in the game. In this article, we will explain who the agents are, their classifications, how to obtain them, and which ones can give an advantage in Counter-Strike 2.
Who are Agents in CS2?
Agents in CS2 are purely cosmetic additions that change the player's appearance. They replace standard faction models and include more detailed features and accessories that standard models lack. Unlike skins, agents do not have pattern indexes and wear values. The only difference between two identical agents can be patches. Agent patches are similar to stickers for skins. Agents can also have unique voice lines and applause animations.

How to Get an Agent in CS2?
There are several ways to obtain agents in CS2. The first is only available during in-game operations. During an operation, players can use a special store to purchase an agent. However, such operations are rare. The last operation was "Riptide," which ran from September 2021 to February 2022.
At other times, when operations are not running, the only way to get an agent is by purchasing or trading with other players. Many different agents are available on the Steam Marketplace.

Do Agents Give an Advantage in CS2?
The introduction of agents in CS caused a lot of negative reactions from the community. Some new models blended into the map textures, giving players an advantage.
With the release of CS2, most of these problems have been resolved. Developers have made significant efforts to rework the lighting and textures of maps and player models to ensure they are clearly distinguishable. It can now be confidently stated that agents in CS2 do not give any advantage to their owners during matches.
Agents represent another way to enhance the visual aspect of the game. They replace the standard player models and do not affect gameplay. Therefore, if you care about how your character looks, take advantage of this opportunity to improve their appearance.
